Our desperation is summed up by the fact that I'd even take Owen. I never ever thought I'd say that.

Salomon Kalou was free earlier this window - only 27 with Premier League experience.  Dunno about his wages but I'm sure he wanted to stay in England.

Not the greatest player in the league but better than some of this light first team squad.

After selling his soul to the devil, Michael Owen should never play for Liverpool FC again.

Even if the option is between getting Owen, and getting no-one, I choose no-one.

I am scared at what I may do if we go for Michael Owen. Some may see that as an overreaction but I just don't know what I may do...

Pretty sure he is at Lille.

      He is.

Salomon Armand Magloire Kalou (born 5 August 1985) is an Ivorian footballer who plays as a Winger for Lille after not renewing his contract with Chelsea at the end of the 2011–12 season.

Yeah, he is now.  I was saying it more with an 'In hindsight' feeling.  Not really in line with the thread but I'm just as depressed as the posters on here suggested Owen could return - ugh!

Just over three years ago I looked at us finishing second and thought it can only be a matter of time before we win the league.

Now I am reading a thread about what strikers are available on a free.

      Now that is depressing.

Just seen Saviola went to Malaga on a free transfer, he would have been a great signing on a free :(

If Owen was prepared to come in until January initially, with no signing on fee, a low basic wage topped up if he actually plays, then it may be worth considering.

If those conditions were met then I would take him on. That would be a no risk gamble worth taking for 6 months.

After that we are looking at Adam Morgan. This could be a chance to fast track him into the first team squad and give him some experience. He would learn more in the next few months than he would in 2 years in the ressies and he might just nab us a few goals and he has the instinct of being in the right place at the right time. If we were to go with Morgan, he would have to be played in the middle of the 3 for me as he is currently a penalty box striker/finisher if you will. Suarez, Borini, Gerrard and Sterling can occupy the wider roles in the 3.

      Very depressing at the minute.

The only feasible option in my opinion is Ivan Klasnic, seems to be a somewhat selfish, one dimensional player, but he is actually a very good finisher, can hit the ball with a lot of power. Doubt we'll look in to this market though.

      Both play for Shanghai.

      Under contract in China.

More interested on possible Bosman or cheap(ish) signings in the January window, I believe Llorente will be available, Walcott (but we can't approach until March,  Holtby & Huntelaar are also going to be available.  Zdravko Kuzmanovic could be an option, cover at right back & defensive midfield.

Think I read somewhere Shanghai had a change in ownership and are in crisis, so they're looking to offload Drogba and Anelka. Anyway doubt they'd become free agents.
