I didn't say Song was world-class.  I said he was a lot better than our current CM options.

Song isn't anywhere close to the quality of Stevie/Masch/Xabi in their prime.

And he's not close to Pogba, Matic, Verratti, Rakitic etc right now.

I'd take Hendo over Song any day of the week as well. Not sure what prejudices you've got or what wind up you're on, but Hendo's got Song beat on most areas. Speed, stamina, passing, shooting, dribbling, and probably about equal in terms of physicality.

Milner's got Song beat as well in just about all the same areas. Their attitudes are a bit better as well.

Yeah, I am getting a little concerned that most of the players that Brendan went for and failed to get have proved as poor at their new clubs as the ones we bought. Salah, Sigurdsson, Willian (supposedly on his way out now Chelsea have signed someone else.) 

I suppose the only one that really "got away" was Sanchez

I'm assuming this is bullshit as we already have Lallana, Cou and Firmino for the attacking midfield roles.

I like Mkhitaryan and he's started this season absolutely on fire (he's something like 8 goals in 5 games), but I found it a bit weird when we spent a lot of money on Firmino, why would we do it again on another attacking midfielder?

To be fair William has been a regular starter at Chelsea ever since he signed there. The league champions I mean. I'm not a huge fan of his talents but there's no doubt to me that he's a good hard working player.

Salah never received many chances as I don't think Chelsea really wanted him but is said to be doing very well in Italy

I think those two would probably be our starting wingers as well if they were at LFC.

EDIT: There's Diego Costa as well who we supposedly tried to sign

I guess signing Mkhi would mean we would play a three man midfield without a DM?

It would also mean less regular playing time for Can and Lallana and even less for Ibe and Markovic.
