We're not Barcelona, Real Madrid or Man City - we can't just go out and buy the top rated players on FIFA with the click of a finger. I blame games like FIFA and reckless marketing campaigns for the obsession to only think a great buy is only one that we've heard of.

You have to work harder to get talent but you also have to have a great manager to utilise the maximum even from players you would think are limited. That's what Jürgen can do. That's why we were delighted we got him to the club in October wasn't it?

One year deal reportedly, seems a total no brainier to me. Sure we'd all be pretty chuffed if we woke up to him signing for LFC tomorrow morning. He is still a hell of a player and he is a winner. I believe he has won 10 league titles in the last 11 seasons (finishing a lowly 2nd in one of those years).

It's still early doors but it feels like our rivals are all on the move with the man said nabbing Ibra, the gooners evidently pursuing Bardy, City went and got Klopp favourite Gundogan.

I keep reading that Klopp buys from the bargain basement, or If Leicester can do it so can we. That's great but I do hope we go after a few quality players. The bargain basement approach might work in Germany but the competition in the EPL is far far greater so polishing up a few rocks into diamonds will not be enough, we also need some genuine quality in the team to stand a chance next season.

I agree mate, it is easier integrating young prospects into a good team than a team that is struggling and I think with the addition of a few top quality players we could be a good team... and then start to bring through the prospects.

Long way to go yet this summer and I am still hopeful.

Honestly looking where we are right now, i'd buy a left back, then spunk the rest on two quality central midfielders.

Anything after that i'd look at as we shift players on.

I keep thinking back to the Europa final and Can & Milner losing control in the middle and getting totally bossed.

Ken Bruce apparently said why Gotze sacking his agent may not be such bad news for Liverpool! Heard it from a mate...apparently Jürgen's a big fan of Popmaster. Never misses it.
