Looking to happen, one of the delays I understand was that Southampton have bigger issues to deal with right now than player transfers.

I think Ojo could be at his level in 2 or 3 years but we need a pacy winger who can bang in the goals now and Mane is this type of player.

However they have already transferred out 2 of the 3 midfielders they started with last year.

Not planning on Dahoud this window....and though he has got loads and loads of talent...he is not going to solve issues this year..still 3-4 years away from when he will really take off; think Coutinho of 3 years ago.

Because none of the four players you listed are wingers?

A quick, direct winger is exactly what we need. Yes we need a midfielder and a left back but we need an attacker or two as well and on paper Mane fits the bill.

I must say I'd pull out all the stops to pick up this guy Krychowiak if I were in charge of the club. Seen him over a dozen times now with Sevilla in their League and the Europa and now with Poland a number of times as well and he looks world class. Think I'd rather him than just about any midfielder in the world at this point. Perfect build for a footballer but also very technically gifted and can operate in essentially any role in the central midfield.

I'm sure he'll make a huge money move after this tournament though unfortunately.

I would postulate that he thinks we could get a better player for less money and that Mane isn't "worth" the asking price (which I believe is 40m)

That's a huge millstone around his neck even at £30 million. Been nice to get him around 18 or so. Might alleviate a little pressure.
