Yep and I expect Matip will probably leave in the summer. Shame because I think he is one of the best centre backs about, just can't be relied upon.

I think the Matip injury probably did force our hand or perhaps these transfers have been in the works for a while but deadline day pressure took them over the line.

With young players you don’t need to worry about how they were or are at their current/former teams, especially with someone like Klopp, you just know he can turn anyone into a world beater.

Klopp will know all about him from his mate David Wagner,,who managed Schalke until earlier this season.

We never stop looking at options, it happens all year round.

Most likely is we had to sweeten the deal, hence Van Den Berg going the other way on loan.
Which means extra time again, because the player has to also agree to the loan, then wages etc
