Liverpool 4-1 West Ham: In game and Post Match Glee

XI: Mignolet, Flanagan, Sakho, Skrtel, Johnson, Allen, Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, Coutinho, Suarez. 

Subs: Jones, Cissokho, Toure, Lucas, Moses, Alberto, Aspas.

Brendan Rodgers makes one change to his Liverpool line-up for today's Barclays Premier League clash against West Ham United at Anfield.

French defender Mamadou Sakho replaces Reds vice-captain Daniel Agger, who is ruled out of the encounter due to illness.

Otherwise, Rodgers' XI is unchanged from the one which eased to a 5-1 victory over Norwich City on Wednesday night.

Exactly the team I would have gone with except I'd have stuck Alberto in for Henderson. This will be a hard game though, and West Ham will do their best at screening Suarez out of it. Expect to see a two man block in front of him all game, and the other guys are going to have to exploit the space that creates. I'd take a 1-0 now all day long.

Sakho! At last! Hope he grabs his opportunity.

Would have loved Alberto to get a chance as well though.

Lucas on the bench a second straight game.  Rodgers finally seeing how useless he is.

Glad to see Sakho back in the starting lineup, thought he was coming on well, will be a good match to test his physicality.  Skrtel has been brilliant all season at CB, good to see Rodgers rewarding him; would assume he's the first CB on the teamsheet at this point.

Can we just give Sam the money and keep Diame after the game?  save us all a lot of time like.

Well selection will cheer those up that think Lucas shouldn't be near the team.

Personally think we're relying on Suarez/Coutinho again, let's hope they can do enough for us. I think they will and expect us to win quite well.

I agree, to an extent. BR still has to get his substitutions/in-game tactics right if plan A isn't working.
For what it's worth I think he's gone just about the right team, I'd have Moses/Aspas in for Sterling though.

Happy enough with the team, but a little surprised that Lucas has been left out again. A little worried now that Sakho as actually been picked as while I wanted him to be given a chance in a "two" sometimes it is a case of be careful what you wish for.... just hope this is not one of those times.

Still hoping we give West ham a good thrashing as I dislike Fat Sam. 4 or 5 nil would be nice, but surely Suarez can't repeat that performance can he?

Personally I am little gutted for Lucas, he should start. I dont know why a lot of people are slating him on here, he is a solid player and over the last few seasons one of our best - but one for some reason the 'fans' love to lay into.

Should be a good game, West Ham have struggled as of late - and their attack is a bit blunt. Any side that starts with Cole & Downing (thank god those days are over for us) deserves to get a bit of a battering. However Stewie will be out to prove a point today I would guess.

I hope we continue where we left off against Norwich and get a nice early goal - I think if we do we could steam roller them! Going for 4 - 1 with Suarez getting 2, Gerrard 1 and Hendo 1.

I'm not sure there are many that "don't think Lucas should be near the team". I think most agree that he is a decent player, one who should certainly come into consideration when the boss is picking the team.

I think where some disagree with some of Lucas' most ardent admirers is that they don't rate him as absolutely pivotal to our success or failure. He's a decent player, a little limited in what he brings to the team (IMHO) but given the right game, I can see us needing someone who sits infront of the back four and defends.

Watching Luis in the warm up and I don't think I've ever seen him so happy he's smiling like a kid on christmas day!

I wouldn't be too surprised if Sunderland took points off Spurs, so chance here for us to widen the gap in the race for top 4.
Would've had Lucas in - midfield may be a bit lightweight, and they will be pretty physical.

Actually getting a bit worried about Newcastle now, since they scraped a draw with us they have been on a very good run..... and they have played a lot of top sides already this season.

Not sure Hendo or Allen deserve to start. Would have liked to see Alberto get given a start for a change.
