You'd rather buy Origi than Benzema or Lukaku? Off your tits.

Lukaku has looked crap for awhile and I'm not a fan of Benzema.

To get us thru 9 game?

Hell Studge did that for us alone last season

Being reported around the £10m mark for a guy I suspect most of us had never even heard of before the world cup. That fee, given his record, seems bloody high.

When you compare it to the low fees being bandied about for the likes of Suso, I do wonder how we go about our negotiating.

The level we want to be at we can't expect 3 untried players at that level to take us there.

Borini and Aspas aren't good enough when we weren't in the cl, Lambert we don't know how he will step up

Inept to go into a season where we need minimum to stay top 4 with the additional revenue the following year and we want to aim higher league wise plus compete in the cl..

If you're happy going in to a season with them then you are a more optimistic man than I

A bad start to next season could leave us facing an uphill battle

You would imagine Chelsea, City and Arsenal will finish top 4, I would have thought we would.. Utd will be stronger under LVG and have an easy start whereas ours isn't easy and we are going in with Aspas and Borini

I expected us to kick on this summer, not step backwards

I guess a lot would depend on Suarez being there at the end of the suspension. The OP suggested we needed to bring in more strikers for a 9 match period, I just pointed out that during his 10 match ban last season we seemed to do just fine even with Borini out on loan.

Of course if Suarez is gone then that is an entirely different scenario.

Changed the game again for Belgium. Looks very raw but there's definitely potential there.

Looked like a £10m player tonight to me. Hope we sign this guy he looks quality.

€11-13m is a big gamble for a totally unproven player! and he'll not even play for us next season.
Surely that 'extra' money could have gone to Moreno whom Sevilla are ready to sell if the valuation is met. Confused over our committee's priorities
They remind me of the lad that was sent out to sell a cow and came back with a bag of not so magical beans .

Typical world cup transfer story to be honest, lad comes on and scores and his 15 minutes of fame results in all kinds of stories about clubs being after him

Lille have said " He is only getting sold,if they get him back on loan for ALL OF NEXT SEASON " So ultimately that would mean another player Liverpool have bought recently, who would be going out on LOAN AGAIN !!! With Assaidi,Borini,Alberto,Ilori already on LOAN...

Fully expect Ilori to get involved with the first team next season cos we'll probably show Toure the door. Assaidi will be sold, for a profit and who knows, we might still recover the price we paid for Borini.

So I wouldn't classify these transfers as "mistakes"... yet!!
