Arsenal could be set for a surprise move for Liverpool's Daniel Agger, according to reports from the defender's native Denmark.
Agger is out of favour under Brendan Rodgers following the £20 million arrival of Dejan Lovren from Southampton and has been linked in recent weeks with a switch to his former club Brondby.
However, the Copenhagen club may now face stiff competition from north London for the centre-back, with Arsene Wenger said to be interested.
Wenger is pursuing a central defender in the wake of Thomas Vermaelen's imminent departure.
The Belgian is set to leave Arsenal this summer, with Barcelona and Manchester United thought to be leading the chase for his signature.
"We will work really, really hard to secure Daniel but as he has also said, when he was here with Liverpool, the timing has to be right," said Brondby chairman Jan Bech Andersen earlier this month.
I wouldn't sell Agger to Arsenal for anything below a premium amount. I think he's surplus but I would refuse to sell to Arsenal, unless they overpay.
£15 million would be the starting price IMO.
