Like Brian said I wasn't too keen if he was to be the only striker we brought in but now that Mario is coming I'd have him here as well.

      according to this article
don't know if true but after the balotelli high link I presumed we were not  interested any more

There were times at Chelsea that he looked half decent, scored a few decent goals but whether he'd be a decent signing I don't know, I have a lot of doubts about him. He's just a money grabber. Maybe be better off keeping Borini who will improve and at least put the effort in. 70/80k a week for a bench warmer.

Won't be too bad as backup, he was pretty decent at Chelsea actually after a tough couple of months to start with.

Saw that Metro story, but can't believe we will sign Eto'o if we are also signing Balotelli.
      We don't need them both.

We're just trying to keep Balo's agent on his toes with this Eto story. I hope.

Yeah I get what your saying, Im pretty sure the sort of person Etoo is when he refuses to play at the WC for one of the poorest countries in the world because he is not getting enough dosh.

      Thats disgraceful.

I think his numbers are deceptive at Chelsea and not in a good way. People see what they want to see when it comes to stats.

      All competitions:
Apps 41 and 32 as starts 9 of those were subbed on
      Goals 14
      Assists 7
Actual games he scored a goal in 11
Actual games he scored an assist in 5

      Premier League:
Apps 21 and 16 were starts 5 were subbed on
Goals 9 and 3 of them was a hat-trick against the ManUre
      Assists 5
Actual games he scored a goal in 7
Actual games he scored an assist in 4

I'm just saying stats are what they are sometimes they may be good as a whole but when you break them down they may not always add up as good or decent.

I wasn't singling you out and meant no offence to you. It was a generalization about how people see stats that can be good or bad.  ;D

As long as he was to score a hat-trick against the Mancs again.

We've supposedly lined up Eto'o as a back up to Balotelli if the deal falls through. He's already completed a medical.

I beg to differ. Sturridge, Balotelli, Lambert, Eto is a strong enough attacking four imo (assuming Borini leaves)

Giving us the same 3 replacing Eto with Origi when he is back, wouldn't mind it happening tbh.

I think the ironic thing is if we sign Eto'o (which I hope we don't) and sell Borini for £14M and buy Mario for £16M and paid £4M for Lambert, that we only spent £6M for 3 Strikers after selling Luis for £75M. That would be nuts.

      Just for strikers
      +£75M LS
      -£4M RL
      -£16M MB
      +14M FB
      -£0M SE

I'd find it strange that Eto'o would do a medical just as a back up to another player.

Would a player like Eto'o even agree to doing a medical knowing it is only in case Balotelli ends up not signing? Especially when Eto'o has apparently been offered more money elsewhere than what we would give him.

Hi Samuel. You wouldn't mind just doing a medical here just in case we can't sign Balotelli?

      I have a feeling Si that it's Studge/Balotelli/Lambert/Eto....next season Studge/Balotelli/Lambert/Origi.

Anybody worth his salt would have told us to F**k off about doing a medical just to be an emergency stop-gap on a failed transfer.

Eto has something to prove to maureen and Brendan likes having players with a chip on their shoulder.

More a case of waiting weeks of a striker .... then two come along together.

I think Borini must be leaving if we sign Eto'o as well as Balotelli.

Trying to look on the bright side Eto'o will bring variety and experience and perhaps more importantly insurance incase Balotelli blows a fuse or his chance at some stage during the season.

Sorry - I just dont see how he had a medical... Every other player comes to Melwood and yesterday the media were camped out there waiting for Mario - so how did he get in with no photos being taken...

The first I saw of this was a tweet by talkaloadofbull.com - so I think its bollocks, personally...
