The Guardian, The Times and The Telegraph saying this - there must be something in this.

I think this has some legs behind it, and I think he could do well for us. Certainly knows where the goal is, however his wages would be huge (offsets the transfer fee) but the club is cash rich. We should be able to buy a striker who'd be here longer than a season or two.

Would be a decent signing, but a little underwhelming if he was our only attacking signing.

The epitome of a football mercenary, dropped in the World Cup to the bench over money - Nuff said.

Really, we're that desperate we've sunk to mercenary standards. That really would be the final nail in the coffin for the Suarez exit strategy, or lack thereof.

Unconvincing for Chelsea last season and now another year older - wouldn't cut it for us either I'm afraid.

I can see the rationale behind signing an experienced striker on a short term deal given we have invested in Origi to come next season... but for me we need to be aiming higher.

Not sure Samuel could carry his weight tbh, Bony is a big lad.

      Witty.

In all seriousness though, I don't think Eto is the answer and if people thought Bony was a panic buy and sounded good because we were desperate, this takes it to a whole new level.

Agree with that completely, the only way I'd even be remotely happy with this is if we were told that we had a pre-agreed contract signed sealed and delivered, blessed by the Pope and delivered by Samuel L. Jackson from Marco Reus to be coming in next year.

Otherwise F**k this for a game of soldiers.

Although, I'd bet a good chunk of change he'd play well against the chav cu*ts.

Sell Suarez for 75 mil , and potentially start the season with Borini,Lambert and Eto. Jesus Christ is that's poor considering we're not short on cash and got champions league football.

      Makes perfect sense.

      So no Balotellli....

Just trying to brainstorm, who would be some other strikers that conceivably would be available this summer without FSG having to break the bank?

      ideas anyone?

      Eto'o.

No point buying a 20 million pound striker to sit on the bench when we have Sterling Sturridge Origi lined up for next season. An experienced pro who can step in whilst Sturridge is injured this season is what we need.

I'd be ok with this would be even better if we got another striker as well as Eto'o if Borini is off too.

      You mean like Luis?

He's a winner - that's not the "antithesis" of LFC. that's why Rafa nearly bust his balls trying to sign him.
