If they don't keep whacking the prices up, the revenue falls, and they then fall foul of the financial fair play ethos, then we have to settle for lesser quality, cheaper players to stay within the bounds. They will argue, they have to up the prices, to up the revenue, to compete for better players.
My argument is, with the extra seating, the revenue will automatically go up without increasing the prices. The cost of the stadium refurb will just come off the tax liabilities next financial year. So no loss there.
And as for the player buys, we seem to pay top dollar for second rate players anyway, so no change in quality there.
Would our prices be in line with Citeh, Utd and Rentboys ? If so, then no excuse why we can't compete for the top players as well !
And bollocks to the Cat A Cat B Cat C nonsense. Lets get back to all ticket prices the same. Go to the match, enjoy, whoever it is, go home. There were only different prices for seating and standing, or kids and OAP's concessions.
As its all seating, the prices should be the same, except for kids and OAP's.
The financial fair play goons, could make allowances on income for the reduction in seat prices, so no loss in that respect, and it would encourage all clubs to follow suit as well.
