I would think much more, sign on bonus's only kick in at the termination of a contract; if he had 3 years left at Schalke I would imagine his transfer fee being around £18-22m.

Agree with this. He's bode his time for the first season, even with the injury crisis we had, but he knows who is in and who is out.

Agree but Matip, Sakho, Lovren and Skrtel will all want to be playing and I can't see Skrtel sticking around to sit on the bench. And he's been sh*te too like so I wouldn't be surprised if Klopp was happy enough to sell him.

Matip is a Klopp player, he'd have signed for whatever club Klopp went to so he will be first choice. I would really be surprised if we kept all 3 of the others.

Why would we? Are Sakho, Lovren, Matip, Gomez, and Ilori not enough? I think Skrtel's position is definitely under the biggest threat. If we find someone willing to take on his wages, I think there's a decent chance Skrtel goes.

Anyway, apparently Matip had a very good game today.

Scored a brilliant header from corner today, that got disallowed for (non) push. Our current stock of CBs can only dream of creating space like that
