PM, this is what I see as well rather than Gini as #6. Even the other night I thought this worked better, not Gini was a problem there.
I don't think it worked better, nor did it lessen us. Hendo came on 67th min for a tiring Milner after we weathered the storm, and 74th min, they had 10 men, so our midfield had more space to operate in. Was kind of surprised we didn't dominate them when they went down to 10 tbh.
Also, when Hendo plays the 6, how much of it will change the way we have been playing in pre-season and the last 2 competitive games? Not that change is a bad thing, but we have been more patient and controlling in possession, and with Hendo as the 6, it would be more direct/forceful? We all know how he likes to play the Hollywood balls to switch the play or behind the lines often, but he lacks composure to play in tight spaces and is unprogressive in his short ball distribution compared to Wijnaldum and Fabinho.
At the moment, the way I see it, I would rather we do like for like rotations, so, Keita/Lallana (or even Shaqiri!), Fabinho/Wijnaldum (#6) and Milner/Hendo (#8), that way, I think we will still keep the same function and chemistry in midfield.
