It's the way of the game, there are exceptions with the likes of Messe, Ronaldo, Pele, Ronaldinho etc who defy the age process to an extent but when the legs go any sell on fee is affected.

      True.

suppose if he was moving on to somewhere else in europe we probably wouldnt be shouting for silly fees.

Well as Bob said if their legs are going let them go in someone else’s team seems pretty apt on this occasion though I think the fee could be higher , oh and the human rights issue , just check everything you own and see the name China 🇨🇳, brutality sweat shops , stinking state of the orphanages , the list is endless but not much gets said about it .

who are they ? Liverpool did not offer any player to Saudi. Clearly Stevie G had some influence on the selection of potential players that story is yet to be told.

Irreplaceable from a mentality point of view ,for a measly 12m quid to the richest people on planet earth.less than a mth to start at chelsea
Purely to get him of the wage bill.hate these cu*ts and were winning fa this year

      Measly 12m ;D

What did you think you would get for an aging midfielder?

Just because he's our club captain and legend doesn't mean he's worth that to anyone else. 12m is actually pretty good money considering Milner walked for free at the end of his contract.

Save's a ton on the wage bill too. As long as it's reinvested, it should be a good move for the club's future.

He can only react to what happens if a club bids for him

We know that Klopp doesn’t keep players who want to leave

Guess you aren’t from the city

Not sure you will understand the connection the players have with local fans and why some deserve murals

You think I would have a different opinion if I was born in Liverpool?

Footballers are not role models or hero’s.
Might be for you but we are all different eh.

Done well getting £12 million for him, anywhere else he'd be going for free!

Him and Fab out and either a defensive minded midfielder or defender in.

If we hold on to the veterans it's sure as F**k we'll win nothing!

Absolutely. We see that "we need to be ruthless with our selection", yet when a well loved player leaves "we should still be holding on to him..."

Can we have our cake and eat it? Yes if we deny viewing these two things holistically. But the fact is that they're the same sh*te.

Jordan's old it's time to move on. With £12m in, that's a very good thing, like it just dropped from the sky. It's good. We move on!

And why carry wages of players who are old and slower on your books when you're not really playing them most of the time. So it makes sense to move on logically. Maybe some of us are being held back emotionally because he's well loved. But love can't bring in the points, score goals, create goals and win matches!

You'd rather keep an ageing player on a fortune of wages who's likely not to feature too much?

      Very weird thinking.

      I really dont get it.

People are acting like this is a player still in his prime, turning his back on Club and England aspirations.

When in reality, this is a 33 year old player who will be turning 34 this season, who would play no more than a handful of games for club and none for England.

Literally the best time to step down and move on.

If this was a 28 year old player like Aleksandar Mitrovic or something i would understand the outrage and people questioning his club loyalty /ambitions.

If Hendo was going to the MLS or even to the Saudi league for a lesser weekly wage, people would have no problem.

I think people are just emotionally triggered by the 700k wages.

No love lost for our forsaken owners, but this has nothing to do with that. It's not like they are forcing Henderson out.

Henderson would not get into the starting X1 of another top English team, it tells us everything we need to know. He's a good servant of the club but that's it. Time to move on, Klopp and Hendo know it and have accepted it. Fans should too.

Now it's time to sell him ASAP, reveal the new captains and sign another player who could be as useful as Henderson to us now and in the future.

      Are you surprised?

All yer man does is call them Skinflints on every other post.

FSG didn't shop him around to anyone. Gerrard and his oil rich backers sounded Henderson out, F**k all to do with FSG.

They rely on the manager's superlative skill at spotting potential talent, although obviously he is not infallible and the process can be lengthy, faced with clubs who do not have self imposed financial restriction the manager is under further pressure.

Gone a bit quiet this hasn't it? Thought he'd be unveiled by now. He's agreed terms, we've agreed the price.
