I'd play MacAllister beside Jones though just for that extra but I'd security and Trent more orthodox.

Jota on the left as he's more disciplined that Diaz defensively and also offers that goal threat inside when Gakpo drops back.

He's never once started in midfield to the best if my knowledge.

Pretty sure we did when Jürgen had that period with Mo Bob and Sadio up top with Coutinho in a creative advanced midfield role in behind.

Head says score draw but slightly fancy our chances now with Nkunku out injured. I would definitely have Mac as the holder as he has the discipline and tactical nous to do the job. It really hits home when you start to choose who you'd have in the middle that you don't really have any choice but to pick Curtis and Dom as the other two.

Klopp does not play it! We should know by now.

He play in possession beside Mac Allister as the two midfielders ahead of the back 3. Just as he did in the last preseason game.

He did not play midfield, he just cut inside when possible and against lesser teams.

Not watched any of pre season the score lines suggest we are in for more basket ball style football that lends itself to winning nothing.

If we start shipping in goals like last season then we can forget it. On paper it's hard to see how the team can function for a full season if this is to be the final squad.

It looks like a team devoid of protection to the defence.

And that's before the inevitable raft of injuries come in!

I was in the away end that day, the most volatile away end I’ve ever been in. The hate and betrayal fuelled the fire for 90 minutes. Some lad set fire to a Torres shirt as the game kicked off. Said to myself I wouldn’t boo him before the game and booed all game until he was subbed. We were never losing that game.

I’m not sure this game will have quite the fervour of that one but it’ll be feisty given the last couple of days.

Well, this will be a nice distraction from the circus that has been our summer transfer thread.... 

We've got a pretty decent side when everyone is fit and available, which I believe they all are at the moment.  For me, TAA has to play as the DLPM in possession.  I don't really care where he plays out of possession, he's not on the field for his defensive abilities.  Additionally, Jota has to play.  He's our best goal poacher after Mo and the game is about scoring goals, especially considering we look unlikely to keep many clean sheets this season....  For me, I would go with this:

It's certainly very attack heavy, but until we get a #6 to balance the side then I think we should aim to win games in a shootout.

Macca for me temporarily of course, he’s more experienced than Jones,  is more versatile and has better vision, he’s more suited to the role if you want, and you can laugh if you want, but although not ideal, we can make do for now.

I think one holding, any that being a more experienced player, and Nunez to start to unleash  chaos in the chavs defence.
