Got a university degree in English Lit, and worked as a mortgage administrator when I was living in England.
Moved to France but didn't know a word of the language, so worked firstly as a waiter in a camp site which was a good laugh!
Lots of people visiting from all over the world, so got to meet lots of different nationalities whilst improving my French. Disadvantage was that it was 1/2 hour in the car from where I live, and I often had to work from 6.30am until 1.30pm, then 5.30pm until whatever time at night the same day.
Had to either hang around for four hours, or return home to eat, which meant that with the round trips I had 2 hours of driving a day...
So... dropped that for a factory job 5 minutes drive from where I live. The boss is a psycho and the job is very physical and demanding, but I get to spend more time with the family. Advantages are I do lots of overtime, so can be paid very well each month - essential with three kids!
(Still overdrawn every month though
).
Hope to change jobs when my wife goes back to work next year, but what as? Have to have a think about it!
