Here's a few words from Rafa.

      http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N158839080214-1538.htm

      RAFA: PAISLEY WON'T BE MATCHED

Rafa Benitez has paid tribute to the late Bob Paisley by claiming the great man's achievements are unlikely ever to be matched.
Speaking on the 12th anniversary of Paisley's death, the Spaniard admitted his predecessor remained an influence on the club even today.

"It will be difficult for any manager to match his achievements," said Benitez. "I would like to get close!

"When I first became aware of Liverpool I heard about the size of his achievements and the quality he had as a manager, and now I am here I hear people talk about him as a person.

"He's a great influence on the club and a very important name in our history."

Paisley brought six league titles, three European Cups, one UEFA Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, three League Cups and five Charity Shields to Anfield in just nine years.

Legend is a word that's used far too often, but in this case it's completely justified. Unlikely to ever be equalled, it's no coincidence IMO that our downturn in form during the early 90's coincided with Paisley leaving the club due to illness.

      RIP Sir Bob.

Bob looked more at home in slippers and pipe in front of the fire but many opponents I believe underestimated him to their cost. The day he stepped down left us stunned and I don't think we'll see his likes again as he was brought up at a time of real poverty which molded him into a compassionate understanding man.A true gent.....

R.I.P Bob Paisley I can't say that I remember him as Liverpool manager but older members of my family only know of 2 Liverpool managers being Shankly and Paisley!  He truly was the perfect man for the job and a had such great leadership skills, in the words of my nan "they don't make them like that anymore"

May your spirit live on in our hearts and bring us hope and belief that this great club will see the glory days return as you have shown us the way, now we must find the path.

I still find it hard to think he might have left us to have a fruit and veg shop many years ago. If he had of done, it would have been the best fruit and veg shop in the world.

wasn't around in the paisley days but you don't need to have been to realise what a great man he was. more than 50 years with the club, that amount of managerial succes in 9 seasons, we can safely say he will not be topped.

Thank you Bob for helping to create the club I know and love today R.I.P

      RIP Sir Bob Paisley

What a man, and what a manager!

People can chat about Alex Ferguson and how good a manager he is, but Bob Paisley remains the most successful manager this country has ever seen! I'm just glad he was ours! :)

He has helped Liverpool become one of the most successful in the world, and we can all do nothing but thank him for that! :)

An awful lot of people in football could learn a lot from Bob. He was a gentleman first and foremost devoted to his club. Not one for tactics he bought good players and let them play. doesn't get anything like the recognition he deserves from the media  because they cant see past manure and that arrogant scot. Considering he didn't even want the bloody job he didn't do too badly. He is the sort of character we need at the club now to give us some stability. How about a position of Fans President on the board and it would have to be Kenny wouldn't it.

I was lucky enough to have been "spoiled" by growing up watching the Reds during the Paisley dynasty and was able to catch an awful lot of football at Anfield during that time.  They were among the greatest times of my life, glory days, that i'll never forget.

      Thanks Bob.
