With only a few weeks to go still the end of the season.

If you could have 2 votes, who would you vote for.

Who do you think will end up to be the men of the season.

      There are a few players who come to mind, to name but a few;

      Steven G.

      Fernando Torres.

      Javier Mascherano.

      There are a few other names I would like to put in;

      Gary Ablett- Reserve team Manger.

      Rafa Benitez.

George Gilette Jnr & Tom Hicks - Co-Chairmen  :lmao:

      My votes would go for;
      Gary Ablett- Reserve team Manger.
      Fernando Torres.

Can you think of any other names to put in.

      Have fun.

Alvaro Arbeloa - from Spanish wilderness to Spanish international.

Was in the form of his life until recent injury ...and will soon be back to his very best.

Yes i agree Arbeloa has been amazing when he has been fit, lets be honest it has been all about Gerrard and Torres. At least in the media. however im going to throw in Rafa's name as he has seemed cool and calm threw the entire season despite strong reports that his sacking was imminent. Others do include Ablett and also Masherano and as always Carra has been outstanding but no one has been singing his praises this year. Reina, despite some blips has been the best keeper in the Premiership when he is playing well. Finnan has been mr.solid as usuall when he plays, despite a loss of half a yard this year. Recently Skrtl has very much impressed me also, and Xabi is returning to some form which is good to see. Babel has impressed at times and Kuyt has worked hard so i can give him credit on that for sure. As for voronin im not going to go there ;)

      Overall, my votes go for:

      Rafa and Torres

Gentlemen, its so difficult to deny Fernando Torres as a head and shoulders man of the season but it would be unfair not include the likes of Mr Ablett, who's work with the reserves has been superb this season, Mascherano esablishing himself as a worldclass holding mid, Hyypia confounding the critics with one gritty performance after another despite the mileage, Arbeloa's year at Anfield has shifted Finnan's surety of a start (not to mention earning earning his first cap as mentioned by Don)

Rafa himself has had to withstand opposition, not only on the pitch but from within his own camp...but he has remained stoic and keeps driving the team forward. All in all, a tumultuous season is almost behind us, which may or may not have an effect on things during the off season.

The men of the season in my opinion?

Harry Kewell...for not giving Rafa a selection headache... ;)

      Torres

      Benitez

In terms of who's achieved the most for the club this season I don't think I can say until these last few weeks have been played out, but it's got to be a two horse race between Gerrard & Torres, with Torres slightly edging it for me right now. Without these two carrying us at times this season God knows where we could have been.

But if we're talking about man of the season in terms of the way they have conducted themselves as a person then Rafa has to stand head & shoulders above anyone at the club for me. The amount of sh*t he has had to put up with this season has been unbelievable, but he has conducted himself with dignity throughout.

I also think Gabriel Heinze deserves a mention for all his efforts to try & join us, even though sadly it never worked out. It was refreshing to see someone take on Fergie for once, if it wasn't for the blatant favouritism from the FA he'd be playing for us right now.

Couldn't agree more, Torres has been outstanding especially considering its his first season and in my mind Masch has cemented his place as the world's best defensive midfielder. There have been others worth a mention, Hyypia for doing such a great job at his age, Gerrard for consistently being as fantastic as we come to expect, Arbeloa for rising to international standard and Babel for settling in so well as justifying the money that was paid for him. But IMO I can't look past Torres and Masch

Torres has been outstanding in his first season here at Anfield so vote one goes to him, the amount of kicks and sh*t he gets in games yet still scores and nothing phases him at all. He"ll be alot stronger next season in terms of strength, im sure Rafa will throw him in the gym every day.

Vote 2 is going to Dirk Kuyt, he has had so much criticsm from fans, yet still continues to work so hard for the team, he is a winner on and off the pitch. If he was given the chance in his preffered role im sure he would do the business and score loads of goals.

Definitely Fernando Torres, to achieve what he has achieved in his first season in England and in the Premier League is just phenomenal. People generally say it takes foreign players at least one year to get used to the style of the game and competition, but somehow he managed to get used to in the first couple months he arrived. Absolute great signing, definitely not a waste of money or space. He has lived up to his reputation and I think he has also exceeded it.

My second man of the season would go to Gary Ablett, he has been training the Liverpool first team hopefuls very well and he has won a couple of cups along the way as well. The future does indeed look very bright.

Torres is definitely at the top of my list.To be honest, I would have called his transfer a success even if he had scored only half the goals that he has got till now.
My 2nd vote has to go to Gerrard.Mascherano has had a brilliant season but Stevie G is still the heart of the team.

Also,i believe Hyypia deserves a mention here.He has been a fantastic player for us over the years and i still believe he has another year left in him.

Rafa Benitez held it all together when everything, but the kitchen sink was thrown at him.

Torres & Gerrard practically motivated the team to push forward.

Mascherano & Skrtel for being a no-nonsense duo in defence.

Hyypia; still holding it down, still scoring.

Definitely Fernando for me, for all the reasons mentioned above but most importantly because he just scores fantastic goals and creates havoc for very other teams defences. All this in his first season at a new club in a different country.

Secondly, Rafa....the amount of sh*t that's been said, thrown at him and he just conducts himself with so much dignity.....never whinges and moans like Slur Alex or Arsend. What a true gentleman he is.

its funny, this season seems to always nearly fall into a complete disaster. There was a period where we did not play well consistnetly for a few months, it seemed after the 1-1 draw with porto, we started to lose momentum in the premiership, with 0-0 draws at pompey and birmingham. However this month,  before the manc match we still had an outside chance of winning the title. If we had not drawn so many games in that poor period then we may have had a real chance. This also conincides witht the whole boradroom debacle (oh and that cup defeat against the giants who outclassed Chelski and are gonna win the cup.)

There is a lot of potential, anda lot of players have actually done well this season ( not Itandje though, those poor cup perfomance God - maybe a bit harsh!).

Torres - Start of season, "give him time to settle because he's a new player and is new to english football". Fast forward a few months later 28 goals... not bad, could be better.

Gerrard - Relishes playing with class talent and is really enjoying playing with Torres, forming a telepathic relationship , like Gerrard and Owen relationship, we could bring back houllier and he would win the title.. only joking, honest.

Mascherano- key player and is the best in the world in what he does (makele past it, sorry chelski), and with a great attitude, easy to love.

Yossi - great first seson, good technique and is a good creative influence on the team, yet  it will be interesting to see how he fares next season, with presumably new competition on the wings.

Hyypia - been written off so many times yet comes back from the dead so often and is an absolute legend at the club, love him, he desrves his new contract (any time soon). He is becoming an Ayala version at Valenica when Rafa was there. expereinced and a great reader of the game.

Rafa - he tried to play a tactical game with the yanks in the media but in the end he does not need to anymore such is the chaos with the yanks. The fans has always supported him. He clearly loves the club and does things the "liverpool way" if you like. A tactical genius and is one of the best in the world, many of the big clubs are lining up if he decides to leave at any point. Oh and don't forget he gave us are best eve premierr league points ever so he is capable of challenging 9maybe next season).

Yet my two have to be Torres (bit boring I konw) and Rafa (sorry Pako, no room for you), with Mash patato close behind in third place.

Mascherano, Torres, Gerrard and Hyypia, all amazing!

I'm delighted with Torres and Masch 'cause we could well still have them in five years time, and they will still be incredible!

Well obviously.... all the star names have already been mentioned, and I'm like everyone else, who thinks that Torres should get all the glory, he certainly deserves it, what an absolutely brilliant first season he's had, I think he's amazed us all with the amount of goals he's scored.

Rafa too deserves a mention, held everything together under terrible circumstances, he deserves a medal on his own.

Reina, Gerrard, Carragher, Mascherano and Hypia also deserve a mention.

But Torres being my number one, my number two would have to be the fans, Blimey we've had to put up with some crap this season, and you don't need me to tell you from who.

So well done to everybody who has done their bit this season...........and it's not over yet ;)

I cant choose 2 honestly so here's my list.

Gary Ablett - an absolute treasure to have leading our young men and his worry first and foremost is the lads improving before results which is hard to find.

Kristian Nemeth - the praise he gets from playing in the reserves and in his first season is truly remarkable (srprisd no one mentioned him)

Fernando Torres - well its obvious, all has been said on him

Javier Mascherano - Best defensive midfielder in the world. To be chosen in the Argentinian national side as a holding midfielde is amazing and was singled out as a player who could play for the olmypics is just amazing. When you think Argentina you think flair and pace and goals but Javier is outstanding.

Rafael Benitez - What a fella. What i love about the guy most is when Masch was being escorted off against the Scum, he went and calmed him down with a little chat. AMAZING FELLA. Wouldnt want any other person in the world leading my side out.

Stevie Gerrard - Will be on everyone's list no matter what. Best CM in the world.

Having to pick two is tough in terms of who else do you put alongside Torres. Torres for his 1st season in the EPL has been outstanding and whilst most of our players have had at some time this season a dip in form whereas Nando seemed to hit the ground running and he's still going strong. The 2nd choice has been hard Stevie,Masch, and Skrtel even though he's only been with us from Jan he's shored up our defence and I think that he will get even better but my last choice is Raffa for to do what he as done in all the circumstances going on within the club he has been a rock ...

Definitely the first is Steven Gerrard.

He scored so many important goals and create even more. He also play an important role in front of the defence when it was necessary. Also he helped Fernando Torres to settle in English football with his brilliant passes.

      My second is Fernando Torres.

Also i think that Javier Mascherano, Sami Hyypia and Rafael Benitez deserve to be mention.

For me its got to be Torres and Gerrard, they have been the two to win us games this season, but there are others that do stand out for me, like Masch, Kuyt, Carragher, Reina, Babel. And what about Yossi Benayoun, i think that when he has played he has done really well, scored important goals aswell for us.

It has to be Torres for me. Being the first Liverpool player to score 20 league goals in a season, in his first season in English football is quite an achievement! But Torres only just pips Masch, I still can't believe he couldn't get a shirt at West Ham! Soccer politics always make me laugh!!  ;)
