Get real, just cos they've got a bit of cash to spare, they think they can buy the world.  No way would Nando disappear down the M62.

Haha that's ridulous. There's a higher chance I'll be playing for them come January than Nando! He loves Liverpool.

Now though, I would love if they bought the entire ManU team for LOLs!

No it didn't say anything about £120 M for Torres in that article.

Pure bullshit.  BUT if they offered that kind of money, it would be hard to say no.

It wont happen, just because City have all this money now does'nt mean they can get any player they want and to be honest if they are offering teams like us and the mancs over 100million+ and it got accepted then we could just go and buy the likes of Messi and Villa and Ramos, players who they would never get.

Torres comes under the category of who they will never get so they can F**k right off if they are going to try anything, he would turn them down anyway because of the affection he has with Liverpool and us fans. He would'nt be able to play against us in the same league just like he would'nt be able to ever play for another Spanish team. They are becoming so deluded, and im not siding with the Mancs in anyway shape or form here but why the hell would they go and sell there best player and one of the best around the a rival such as City, i think they would rather him go to Madrid.

The thing that amuses me is that they plan on getting these players in January, that is right in the middle of the Champions League basically and all these players they want will not leave Champions League for Man City.

Also they only got Robinho because he is in it for the money and settled for 2nd best, he did'nt want City and he proved that by how much he said he wanted to go to Chelsea and they know that so they went and offered him £4mill a year.
They can offer Torres £10mill a year and they still wont get him, some players are just untouchable when it comes to the transfer market and Fernando Torres is one of them so i have 2 words for you City.

      Jog on!

Arent these the same guys who claimed they would pay 135 million for Ronaldo? ::)

F***ing get real, they have money, big whoop! They dont have any formula to create a winning side, they can buy Robinho but they wont get any more stars without the lure of CL footy while the top 4 can still buy those same players for less.

If they came in with 120 mill. i'd tell them to quadruple it and then i'll possibly consider it. We cant replace him, if we do who would be just as good? He is a Spanish Scouser no doubt, no better person to play up front for us.

What could tempt the owners would be the fact that it would make one hell of a downpayment on the new stadium.  ::)

Benitez wouldn't accept any offer for Torres, it would be the American G*bsh*tes if anyone accepted an offer for Torres!  It'll never happen... Losing a player like Torres would leave many other players at the club disillusioned.

      Not surprising!

It'd take a large portion of that sum just to replace him, and his possible replacement would have no guarantees to perform just as well in the EPL.

Still i'd keep Nando though :D

but the money would be good for us

but you cant replace Torres..........look at keane, he cost nearly as much and is only half as good
the staduim would be all systems go..........

but why havent they gone after gerrard........hes probably worth just as much

      oh also

we will have to think of a obbible nickname for city now as there is the scum and urinals.........

I imagine they will bid silly money for everyone. But if everyone sells to them, it'll just make a mockery of the league.

Chelsea tried with Henry and Gerrard a few years back and failed. It's just not in your interests to sell to your rivals, if that's what City can become.

Also, why would Torres want to leave his Spanish enclave, and Gerrard leave his hometown club? They are rich enough, and happy where they are.

They won't go after Gerrard because after two pursuits by Chelsea, it's obvious that he won't leave.

Depending on how Robinhos first season goes and Citys position in the League, only then will they like of Kaka and Messi, IMO, consider going, but I still don't think they will go.
And as far as Nando is concerned, no way would he go to City, when he was linked with the £50m move to Chelsea he came out and said he'd never go there, so I don't see why now City have a cash injection Nando would go there.

Our owners need some saving grace from the fans I don't think they'd have the balls to sell Torres knowing the knock on effect it'd have for them. Plus 50m for Torres is an absoloute steal. It'd cost us at least half of that to get a forward even close to enough to lace Nando's boots.

What we have got to remember though is the yanks can agree a fee (if they're that actuall stupid) but it's still Fernando himself to sign on the dotted line and I think he loves this club and city (no pun) too much to leave. It's still his decision at the end of the day and I have faith in our number 9 to stay loyal to us.

All these huge money coming into the Premiership will only end up becoming more of a problem eventually. FIFA & UEFA will only find more ways of stacking the chips against the premiership clubs; because if all these moneys are not developing world class english players, FIFA/UEFA will find a way of making the money not-so-useful in international football eventually.

      Thinking long range.

If the board except then, were fu**ed. Remember, we have a new stadium to fund.
As for the story, well they are all coming out at the moment the next one will be George Bush taking over a club with Osama as his Director of Football.

Torres leaving just wont happen, he could well end his career here and i think he would be more than happy to that. If he is  to ever leave then it would be in the last year or 2 of his career and that would be to return to Athletico.

if the board accept a bid we are not fu**ed and not by a very long way pal because the ultimate decision lands on the shouders of Fernando Torres. He can easily say I'm not interested because he knows the fans and manager do not want him to go and the fans are more important than the owners. He knows the club on a whole will still adore him so they'd be no reason for him to leave other than extra money and fortunately Fernando Torres doesn't strike me as the sort who'd run off for extra money. So City can bid all they want, the decision rests with Torres and I have faith in our number 9 telling any club in the world to F**k off because his home is Anfield.

I'm not happy they have this money....I'm pretty sure they won't get Nando, but not 100% sure. We could pay any salary that Man City could, couldn't we? Plus I think that if he loves Liverpool, he is earning enough money, then he will be very happy, so F*** off mancs, your not getting him!
For a reputed £120m I think Rafa would carry him there!
and no I don't think we could afford £200 grand a week!

I believe you are spot on and Fernando definately wouldn't wan't tomove. You are right with the money aswell because he took a pay drop to join Liverpool from Athletico.

Maybe I over reacted but you know how nervous boards are makin fans nowadays.

Never 'cos it is very difficiult to find another torres (0.5%) but to find another owner is peanuts (75%) but they must accept the offer from DIC or anyone.
