will we sell is the question. if it was up to me no.......but its basically up to the americans.....they would probably sell him then say to raffa, so what , do what you will and raffa will walk

but the money would be good for us

but you cant replace Torres..........look at keane, he cost nearly as much and is only half as good
the staduim would be all systems go..........

but why havent they gone after gerrard........hes probably worth just as much

      oh also

we will have to think of a obbible nickname for city now as there is the scum and urinals.........

They won't go after Gerrard because after two pursuits by Chelsea, it's obvious that he won't leave.

I heard on SSN that they offered £50mill on deadline day and it got rejected but they will try again in January as well as going for Messi, Kaka, Ronaldo and Fabregas.

      They wont get any.

7-K K-7, I saw that to, proper joke!
Depending on how Robinhos first season goes and Citys position in the League, only then will they like of Kaka and Messi, IMO, consider going, but I still don't think they will go.
And as far as Nando is concerned, no way would he go to City, when he was linked with the £50m move to Chelsea he came out and said he'd never go there, so I don't see why now City have a cash injection Nando would go there.

Torres wouldn't want to go. We we're the only club in the world he would leave Atletico for. Why would he leave his dream team for money? Surely he turned down lots of it by staying with Atletico for so long.

Our owners need some saving grace from the fans I don't think they'd have the balls to sell Torres knowing the knock on effect it'd have for them. Plus 50m for Torres is an absoloute steal. It'd cost us at least half of that to get a forward even close to enough to lace Nando's boots.

What we have got to remember though is the yanks can agree a fee (if they're that actuall stupid) but it's still Fernando himself to sign on the dotted line and I think he loves this club and city (no pun) too much to leave. It's still his decision at the end of the day and I have faith in our number 9 to stay loyal to us.

All these huge money coming into the Premiership will only end up becoming more of a problem eventually. FIFA & UEFA will only find more ways of stacking the chips against the premiership clubs; because if all these moneys are not developing world class english players, FIFA/UEFA will find a way of making the money not-so-useful in international football eventually.

      Thinking long range.

One way or another, the premiership cant be all about buying the best from La Liga or Serie A; so yes I think such a rule may actually be put in place.

I'm not happy they have this money....I'm pretty sure they won't get Nando, but not 100% sure. We could pay any salary that Man City could, couldn't we? Plus i think that if he loves Liverpool, he is earning enough money, then he will be very happy, so F*** off mancs, your not getting him!

To get Torres they would have to come in for RAFA as well and irrespective of Tom and George doing their utmost to destabilise RAFA in the past I can not see that happening.

If the board except then, were fu**ed. Remember, we have a new stadium to fund.
As for the story, well they are all coming out at the moment the next one will be George Bush taking over a club with Osama as his Director of Football.

Torres leaving just wont happen, he could well end his career here and i think he would be more than happy to that. If he is  to ever leave then it would be in the last year or 2 of his career and that would be to return to Athletico.

if the board accept a bid we are not fu**ed and not by a very long way pal because the ultimate decision lands on the shouders of Fernando Torres. He can easily say I'm not interested because he knows the fans and manager do not want him to go and the fans are more important than the owners. He knows the club on a whole will still adore him so they'd be no reason for him to leave other than extra money and fortunately Fernando Torres doesn't strike me as the sort who'd run off for extra money. So City can bid all they want, the decision rests with Torres and I have faith in our number 9 telling any club in the world to F**k off because his home is Anfield.
