Haven't heard of him and one goal isn't enough to draw a conclusion on so I have no idea if this guy's going to be good.

This will never happen for many reasons.... he's not long at leverkusen, he would cost a bomb, why would Rafa want him... it goes on. Now i would love to see it happen, but id be shocked

He's very very hot and cold. Would be similar to Garcia only with more pace and better passing mostly

Don't want him then. We need consistent players.

He's not good enough, from what I've seen. But Benitez loves to sign subpar players from Die Bundesliga...

But this is just a rumour, but we've seen that Rafa fails to sign quality attackers often.

Seen him play a bunch of times for Flamengo, the guy got one hell of a shot on him and is his best asset. If he has space and time outside the box he always hits the target. Personally I think he is a good player but I don't think he would suit the Premiership game and if we really wanted him we would of got him in the summer.

Also the fact that Leverkusen would want a lot more than 10m for a player who has had a good start in Europe and to switch so soon. I think Kuba would be a much better fit for Liverpool than Reanto Augusto.

Either is Reanto Augusto. Reanto Augusto is a attacking mid and Kuba is a RM (as crouchino stated above) which is one reason why I think Kuba is a better fit.

Ive not had the chance to watch Renato at Leverkusen, but a few days ago I watched an interview where he said he was playing on the right wing there. Also, many people who follow the Bundesliga have been telling me he is doing very well there. In Brazil, you wont find many teams that use wingers, tactics are different - here he was an attacking midfielder, wearing the famous number 10.

He is a product of my local club Flamengo, one of our best prospects in the recent years, so Ive seen him playing in the stadium a million times. His first game as a professional was the Brazilian Cup Final 2006, when he had a good game and Flamengo won the trophy. This should be considered a positive point for him, since playing for Fla (most popular team in Brazil) brings a LOT of pressure and even some experienced players cant deal with it, while he always did it quite well, even scoring important goals, like the one who gave us the Rio de Janeiro trophy in 2007. Video:

In 2007, he got more importance in the squad and has shown a lot of quality but he was kinda unlucky. Every time he got a good run of games for us, he got an injury. And its not like he is injury prone (he isnt actually), it was a matter of luck, considering the kind of injuries he had (one on his face left him out for almost the whole 1st semester this year). Not to mention he had to play as a 2nd striker many times, cause Flamengo had problems with the strikeforce, and he is much better as an attacking midfielder than playing upfront.

That said, I know a lot of people who doubt his potential to become good at Europe, but I for one always believed he could do good and am really happy with the positive reports Im getting about him. He is a smart player so I think he has the mentality to adapt. Its difficult to me to say how well he could do in the EPL though, but I would love to have Renato Augusto at Liverpool. Anyway, he just joined Leverkusen this season, so I dont think they will be willing to let him go, unless we offer good money.

Here is another video about him (I didnt watch, but should help):

Look at where Leverkusen are in the league mate, he is one of their star players, therefore he isn't a subpar player. I would say he is a good player to say the least, whether he could cope in the premier league is another question. From what I have been told and what I have seen on TV he has the potential to be a very talented player. Notice the word POTENTIAL.

He was voted 3rd best player in the Bundesliga so far by the players.

He finished behind only Ribery and Ibisevic (the top scorer).
