He's no longer at the level of a few years ago but still be decent signing for me
Liverpool to sign Atletico winger RodriguezFriday, 1st January 2010Rafa Benitez has completed the signing of long-term target Maxi Rodriguez, according to several sources and well respected blog Well Red.According to sources, the deal was being discussed in 2008 – when we first reported the transfer – however, the winger will now join Liverpool on a short-term deal with a view to a permanent transfer.Rodriguez is currently out of favour at Atletico and out of contract in the summer and would not command a fee if Liverpool look to buy him in the summer.Rodriguez has scored 30 goals in 107 appearances for Atletico and believes first-team football at Liverpool can enhance his chances of making Argentina’s World Cup squad.Rodriguez has already scored against Liverpool, last season, when he finished well past Pepe Reina in the Champions League.Andrea Dossena is also being linked with a move to Atletico Madrid so the deal may include the Italian going the other way.http://lfcglobe.com/liverpool-to-sign-atletico-winger-rodriguez/Won't believe it until it's on SSN and the echo but there you go.
Not bad to get on loan but isn't he getting a bit on now?
Only 27 (28) tomorrow so still has 2/3 years at the highest level. Think we will pay around £2m for him if we are looking to buy him. Loan him would be great because we don't pay anything for him and we can let him go in the summer if he doesn't make the grade. I really hope we sign him.
It's most likely a loan, and if he does well, we get him on a free.
He's 28. Born in 1981.2010 - 1981 = 29.
Are you really judging a man on his mathematical skills on New Years Day? Shame on you!! .
one of their best players in the last 4-5 years.
Well done Rafa and scouting team.
