People only talk about Xavi and his passing with Spain but Schweinsteiger is just as important for Germany, he's having a fantastic World Cup, one of the best players of the competition.

It's even greater if you think it's his 2nd World Cup as a German starter, playing in different positions (2006 he was a winger), and he's only 25.

      Brilliant player.

I agree mate. He's been wonderful this tournament. Ozil is getting the attention of most, but Schweinsteiger is such a key cog to the German team.

Are Real Madrid thinking about how Di Maria can't perform in big games?

Best thing that could have happened for this game - the early goal. Still reckon Argentina are gonna go through though.

You can see Argentina trying to get one before Half time.

Mascherano needs to calm down. He can be such a great player when he isnt pissed off.

Agreed. Getting roasted by Lahm and Muller. Would rather have that other guy. (Rodriguez?)

Masch is brilliant he would be every bit as big a loss as Gerrard and Torres.

Mascherano has been alright, I wouldn't say he's been brilliant though mate. The Germans have been getting through quite easily at times.

      Out you go Argentina.

      Ah F**k off Germany!

Hope Nando's spaniards knock them out in the semis, or Dirk's dutchmen beat them in the final!

      Adios Argentina.

Took a few million off Mascherano's value I assume.

In fairness to him he has been on his own in the midfield, the way Argentina have set up has let Germany just pick them off.
