The what are you drinking thread
      Oct 28, 2011 09:19:30 pm
A thread for those of us having a beer at home rather then being down the pub.

Let us fellow reds know what your drinking and if you weould recommend us trying it, or indeed what drinks you would recommend or advise against drinking!!!

Just opened a bottle of Thwaites IPA.First impression is I would drink a right load of this stuff. Nice flavour to it. A hoppy flavour. Amber in colour (like most of these style beers) 4.6% ABV.

I know ale isnt down everyones street but Id recommend trying this. Particularly my fellow Irish lads most off licences stock this kind off stuff now

As those who probably know me by now, I'm supping more than a few of the Old Speckled Hen 5.4% I believe but, the cans all the way over there on the table. Too far away for me to check for certain> Still trying to track down some Old Tom that was recommended to me but, no luck as yet.

Why do people put lime in Corona?

I know the story about why Mexicans do it but why does everyone else?

Could never get to like it for some reason. Much prefer our magners, or strongbow

Ah. I see. I like to squeeze it into the bottle itself. Nice flavour to it and not to be tried with a lemon. My mate suggested lemon with Hoegarden. How I wish I ignored him.

Stay well clear of that one. Mind you if you drink English Bulmers over Magners your taste buds are likely to think different to mine

It doesn't appear so  :( The Tesco store (we only have one) over here is only quite small, relatively speaking. I have kept an eye out for it but, to no avail, not even an empty space on the shelf with a price sticker under it. The guy in the local independent off licence did say they'd have it in stock in the next week or two, so I'll have to go back there. Although, since he said I looked like the guy who played Fred Flintstone the last time I visited his store, I'm in no rush to go back
