So I said right at the start that he was brainless and couldn't defend.

I don't know why people don't just agree with me straight away, it would save time (and some embarrassment).

Doesn't look a hope in hell he'll be staying on after BR's interview today (good news, looks a very limited player from what he's done in a red shirt).

Didn't see it, what did he actually say about him?

"Aly Cissokho came in here as a cover player, to support Enrique. Unfortunately Jose is still a few weeks away from training.

Aly has done his best and performed to the best of his capabilities. But it’s never easy – different football, culture, environment."

That's a pretty diplomatic way of saying what we've all said about him.... he's $hit.

Coming to this a bit late but anyone who says Fabio was "overrated" must be on a wind-up.

The injury problems we all know about.

But if he had been able to stay fit he could have been the best fullback in the world, hands down.  As it was, he was still the best fullback in the league on his day.  The best part was that after he would come back from being injured, he would slot right back into the team effortlessly, like he had never been out.

Compared to Fabio, Cissokho should probably think about becoming a plumber or something.

Loved Aurelio and agree with the majority of this.

      Just a shame that
he would slot right back into the team effortlessly
and straight back out again, sometimes during the same match.

I knew very little of the guy but I never imagined he could be this bad. I've tried refraining from criticising players in the past but this is simply unacceptable. I find our chances of winning with him in the side as slim at best. Against good sides - almost non existent.  . He can't run, he can't defend, he can't attack, he can't press, he can't pass. He has the mobility similar to that of a fully loaded lorry on an English countryside road - all round thoroughly unpleasant to watch.

Come on now FMS, there's no need to hold back :D

Just to back up your assessment mate:

      LFC Transfer Speculations
There is more chance of Liverpool swooping for Paul Konchesky this summer than making Aly Cissokho's move permanent. (James Pearce, Liverpool Echo)

I've seen flies trying to get out an open window with more positional sense than Ally.  Toure spent more time at left back than he did and his attacking play generally involved impeding Moses or cutting back inside and laying it off and then looking confused.

I've seen flies trying to get through a closed window with better judgement than Cissokho.

He is the worst left back in this league however he is giving all he has. The true is that his ability is very low. I will continue to support him until the summer.

they say a Giraffe is a racehorse designed by committee so maybe Cissokho is a fullback designed by the same people

Fixed that for you Walton.  ;D

Joking aside: the 'transfer committee' didn't exactly cover themselves in glory with poor Aly. It makes you wonder what level of input our scouts (or Brendan) have in the process and what real, if any, say they have.

My guess is that Aly, in a Red shirt, was driven more by the accountants than the football men on the committee and more by cost than ability.

And why Man City didn't seem in the slightest bit arsed about losing them all to us.

Nah Wahs I don't 'blame' them... each to their own but I reckon it's less to do with their ability to scout than our ability to pay.
