Need 3 points today, no other way about it, if only to cement our place in the top 4 anything beyond that we'll know come May, I'd say Arsenal, Chelsea and probably Everton will get 3 points from their games later this afternoon and Spurs will probably follow suit Sunday, then can see City getting 3 points against United Tuesday.

I still don't think playing Allen ahead of Coutinho is wise. Coutinho can split open Southampton with a knock of the ball and i would guess we will be playing mainly a counter attacking strategy where his quick vision will be vital.

When the Saints employ a high line, Sturridge will burn past Yoshida and Fonte to get on the end of those passes.

I'd play both of them and sacrifice Raheem but if we stuck to the same formation, Coutinho is there ahead of Allen every day of the week.

I think Allen in midfield is a good shout for this one, I'd like us to be a little more solid and a little more cagey in away games but like you I perhaps would sacrifice Raheem rather than Coutinho in order to Accomodate him. We just don't seem to be able to pass it nearly as well when the young Brazilian is not in the side.

It is match day volks :) We need our A-game today!
Which means we simply have to score enough goals to secure a win today :D

I know the concern about this potentially tough fixture, I've got a good feeling about this though. It looks to me like our fitness levels are starting to peak at the right time for all the very important games to come.
We won't be as sloppy as the Swansea game, I can pretty much guarantee the manager would have made that a key thing before this game. The attack is so lethal that anyone can be trounced, I mean anyone... Bayern, Barca etc.

I will say it again stay with what works the front line of Couthino,Sterling,Suarez and Sturridge would frighten the life out of any premiership team taking anyone of them out diminishes our ability to attack. Play your strongest XI so no changes for me. Couthino isn't the sort of player who will play at the same level game after game a bit like Beardsley but his threat on the pitch causes defence  to think twice about giving him space.still think this is going to be a performance like the SPurs away game.

Dunno I think our last two performances against Fulham and Swansea have been below par. Carry on like that and we'll be clinging on to fourth at the end of the season with the games we have coming up.

Lucky to take 6 from 6 really and now we need to wake up if we want to push for a challenge.

Gone for a 2-4 result in the prediction league so don't let me down lads.

Think we'll have too much for them today, they're not playing as well as earlier in the season and we're playing much better.  The team that played at Anfield was a very make shift one and the only defeat we've suffered at home this season.

3 points in any shape or form will suffice just to keep the pressure on those above us.  I'm not too bothered about those below us now, we're in the ascendancy and the players know it  ;D

I guess Lovren will be back today replacing Yoshida, immediately improving their defence

      Is that guaranteed?

I don't think they'll rush him back especially when Yoshida has played well for them in his absence.

Apparently Sakho might play today.  Late decision apparently.  I'd assume Skrtel might be dropped.

Agger will be dropped if Sakho starts.

Big test for Brendan this. They've outplayed us in the last couple of games and it will be interesting to see how he approaches this one.

Point wouldn't be a disaster but for a title challenge I think we've got to win this one.

I think we'll win here and win well to surprise everyone. Make no mistake though it's a very tough game.

Going to go with 3-1 to the Reds.
