Gunners keen on move for Liverpool star Daniel Agger
Arsenal could be set for a surprise move for Liverpool's Daniel Agger, according to reports from the defender's native Denmark.

Agger is out of favour under Brendan Rodgers following the £20 million arrival of Dejan Lovren from Southampton and has been linked in recent weeks with a switch to his former club Brondby.

However, the Copenhagen club may now face stiff competition from north London for the centre-back, with Arsene Wenger said to be interested.

Wenger is pursuing a central defender in the wake of Thomas Vermaelen's imminent departure.

The Belgian is set to leave Arsenal this summer, with Barcelona and Manchester United thought to be leading the chase for his signature.

"We will work really, really hard to secure Daniel but as he has also said, when he was here with Liverpool, the timing has to be right," said Brondby chairman Jan Bech Andersen earlier this month.

I wouldn't sell Agger to Arsenal for anything below a premium amount. I think he's surplus but I would refuse to sell to Arsenal, unless they overpay.

£15 million would be the starting price IMO.

I wouldn't sell to Arsenal even if they offer £2-3mln higher than the next highest bidder.

I have nothing against Arsenal so wouldn't be adverse to selling to them in principle. However, as with any sales within the league between teams challenging for the same spots there has to be a mark-up. 15mil+

I would definitely sell to Arse take the inflated mark up for a Prem league player. Past his best days unfortunately.

I wouldn't sell him because I like the idea of having 4 capable and experienced central defenders in the squad - Agger, Sakho, Lovren, Skrtel. I'm not so much a fan of Agger as I used to be, but I think his value to the squad is undeniable.

I've seen this but I don't think there's any life in this story. Assuming Arsenal were to even attempt to sign one of our players after last time, I sincerely doubt Rodgers is stupid enough to release him to one of our top four rivals.

If  agger is not in BR plans than offer him to barca- or other foreign club but not to arsenal or any PL club
if wengie comes in for him I would ask 25-30M not less or he (wenger) can piss off...i am sure he will offer 1 pound more

They've already signed a CB and are in for Vermaelen, Barca that is.

I'd rather we didn't sell him to a rival but we need to get rid of a few CB's and I don't get the feeling Agger is in Rodger's plans.

Exactly! Just tell them no, no no.
I for one will be gutted to see Pepe go, I really do think he can still do a job for us, and I want him there leading the celebrations when we win the league!
Now that is the stuff dreams are made of. Priceless!

The last thing we need to do is give them the boost that Agger would provide.

No thanks. I think Agger is better than Skrtel by a country mile. Skrtel often gets on the wrong side of defenders, poor at clearing the ball at times, scores a few own goals... etc. Agger is better than any CB Arsenal currently have.

Not slating what you're saying like, actually agree with the rest you say but in fairness to Skrtel, a lot of times when he is caught out of position is because of Johnson being no where in sight and Skrtel having to try and clean up his mess. But still, that's for another thread.

Unless we need to sell him I'd like to go into next season with Agger, Sakho, Lovren, Skrtel as our CB options.

If we sell him, we just need to buy another, surely.

Or start using Ilori. Unlikely but it's a possibility.

Maybe. I haven't seen enough of him yet to say he's ready. If in doubt, I wouldn't sell.

Still, get the feeling BR would consider moving him on, even to Arsenal. They seem (on the surface of it) to rub each other a bit up the wrong way.

Straight swap for Sanchez + £1

F**k Arsenal, and everyone else for that matter, we do not , repeat do not sell to a rival no matter what situation said player is at currently, I'd rather give him to Brondy for a tenner than sell to a rival.

I don't mind selling him at all, but not to one of our competitors.

Either sell him abroad or keep him in our squad.
