      Falcao anyone?!

      http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/496554/Liverpool-IN-TALKS-with-Monaco-over-Radamel-Falcao-move

      Yes please!

Not the most credible source but must have some foundations to be published by express - but sort of player we should be linked with IMO and exciting

      Please yes.

We'll be league favourites if we sign him.

We can rule this out purely from wages perspective. I cant help think this is just media garbage, as these speculations started immediately after Benzema signed a new deal, thereby linking him to the next club that's looking for a striker

sorry but I Don't believe ONE bit of it
apart from the source, there are wages  in question, He is on very high wages  and if he is not ready for a drastic cut( which I really doubt) simply will not happen
       Thats realistically speaking,
but there is always hope deep down that it will happen

Not only wages, but he'll be TAXED heavily if he came to the UK, compared to Monaco.

      This won't happen

      Would make little sense.

Ridiculous wages to bring him to the club and we would be in a position where we would be trying to shoehorn him into the side with Sturridge again - it would be idiotic to leave him on the bench with those wages and it would negatively impact on bringing Origi next year.

Still think the best solution would be a top level striker who might not last a whole season but would be perfect to give 100% when Sturridge is injured and be happy with a year long contract with option to extend.

My vote would still be for Eto'o (unless he's been signed already) or someone similar.

      Liverpool odds-on to land Falcao
      Football

      Football

Liverpool are planning to replace Luis Suarez with the statement signing of Monaco striker Radamel Falcao according to Italian journalist Mina Rzouki.

"Meetings today & a very good source told me Liverpool have the advantage for Falcao. It's not yet done. Falcao is between Liverpool and City but the former quite a bit in the lead to land the player. What a coup it would be," she tweeted last night.

Since then bookmakers have slashed the odds on the 28-year-old Colombian striker moving to Anfield according to the Daily Star.

      odds on eh?

Eto looks passed it and we were 2 points off the league last season playing 2 up top for the majority of games. If we do sign Falcao then we have the option of alternating him and Sturridge during CL weeks for fitness and formational reasons.

We'd probably be offering him the same sort of pay as Suarez was getting. Yes, after taxes, it wouldn't be anywhere near as much as he was taking home at Monaco, but no other club in the world could realistically offer him those sorts of wages.

It depends what he wants from his career.
There must come a point when enough money is enough money, and then it's all about glory.
Most top players get both, but a decent (not obscene) wage, plus the chance of glory, trophies, adulation etc must be a draw.

As ever, I'll wait and see what happens.

The BBC story is the same rehashed one from the same source. No substance

Bottom of that page says Andrew Ayew wants to move to Anfield.

Purely comes down to wages. He will have no footballing reservations if his palm is crossed with enough silver

Re Falcao - understand Liverpool had made an inquiry a week or so ago and were told he's going somewhere else. Showed ambition at v least.

I think, if this came off(highly unlikely i know) then we would have a really good shot at the title

falcao playing off coutinho, sterling, markovic sturridge etc would be insane

but we are not a money is no object club and i highly doubt we are even in with a shout. but one can dream

Not sure about the credibility of this source - you'll know better than I, but it's not a transfer I see likely to happen anyway. Huge profile, huge wages, huge fee, and probably has huge ambition if he were to leave Monaco (Real Madrid).

Nope I don't. Got no idea who or what this source is, just a quick copy/paste job.

I was hoping you'd be able to tell me how credible this source is.

Doubting this for two reasons, he would have said a week ago if true and also.. he didn't say where. It is easy to guess he will go somewhere else than Liverpool. I am sure Flacao would have had more rumours within the last week if Liverpool did infact make an inquiry. If Falcao were to accept around 100k a week and be available for 35m I see no reason why a 4 year contract would not be possible but I don't think Liverpool will spend that much on a 28 year old.
