Provisional squad vs Bournemouth: Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Gomez, Henderson, Milner, Coutinho, Lallana, Ibe, Benteke, Bogdan, Toure, Moreno, Can, Firmino, Origi, Ings, Lucas, Sakho.
No Markovic again.
Very strange.I wonder is he about to become one of Brendan's frozen ones?
It makes you wonder for sure. I hope not because although I don't particularly rate the lad, he hasn't been given a fair crack at it in his natural position.
With Can, Hendo, Milner & Benteke in the team, it's probably worth looking into having Markovic and Ibe as our wide players. I just feel there would be more balance than playing the likes of Firmino or Coutinho.
Maybe, but you cant drop both of them.
But if we play both, surely we'll have to play to their strengths? So what of Benteke? A player that Rodgers says can adapt, but we all know he's best playing direct/long, so will we have a weaker striker trying to adapt to Coutinho & Firmino's play style?
Coutinho is probably our best player, Benteke and Firmino both cost big money so before long, all 3 will be starting.
You are absolutely right. But will we carry on playing direct/long balls into Benteke with Firmino and Coutinho in the team? Guess we'll have to wait and see!
I'm really excited to see what these 3 can do. I think hope we will play a midfield 3 of Can, Henderson, and Milner behind them as it will allow our creative Brazilians to focus on attacking more than defending. I think we will at times. If teams are pressing us high, we will probably utilize the long ball at times to help break the press. Likewise, if they are sitting deep and narrow with 10 men behind the ball, we'll probably see some high balls lobbed into the box for the big man. I've got no problem with that. But I do think we'll try to play quick, short, pass and move footie most of the time though.

Another 37 scrappy 1-0 wins will do nicely.Have a boss time Cas!
Settled back four and also another start for the players who have had the most pre season and then bring on Can and Firmino but probably earlier than they did against Stoke whcih should see them ready for the Arsenal game the following week.
Bring then on at the half way mark Si and start them both in the following match; by that time they should be fully fit.
Personally I'd go with Can and Firmino from the start and take them off but I'm just guessing Brendan will go same again.
Here is hoping that both those players showed him something on the training pitch that will force him to sit Ibe/Lallana; we were a different team when we switched out.Either way if he starts with the same again and we look the same the hooks will be coming out quickly.
I'd be very surprised if Brendan changes things (unless we're losing at half time) before the 60th minute+
