If there is a medical problem, they should walk away, I remember a similar issue with Sylvain marveaux when they walked away and were proved 100% correct to do so

Getting him cheaper won't make a medical issue disappear, pay up or end it 100%,must be alternative options.

Wow, we look like real idiots. If there was something really bad we would have walked away no questions asked. Instead we try to use his injury history against them to lower the price a little bit. What a joke. Aulus saying he is done negotiating with us till we come to our senses. Odds that Chelsea swoop in and buy him?

Hope it goes through, but, if thats the case, something inside said it was too good to be true

"We believe whatever we want to believe." - Demosthenes.

Club signs Keita and Fabinho, and we thought Fekir - means club management has turned the corner and finally is going to start doing things the way  the FSG haters think they should.

Club hasn't signed Fekir yet and one source says we tried to reduce the fee due to an injury history - LFC are a clown show.

Question One is what is really happening.

Question Two is, depending on the answer to One, what is the right thing for club management to do.

But for the recently-dormant "FSG as Evil" crowd: shoot first and ask questions later ( if ever).

It doesn't make sense that we were trying to lower the fee down after the clubs agreed on the fee, and after having agreed the fee comes a medical....

I am still leaning towards failed medical, makes more sense.

Not worth paying that money if his knee was to give out again early in the season.

But if he goes on to have a great WC and another club buys him we'll be a total laughing stock.

I believe Pearce said medicals both went fine. So if that was the case why the pullout? And if they didn’t go well, then jog.....why would it be ok to buy a damaged player for a reduced price? Surely we need to spend good money on healthy players? I don’t think it’s unreasonable given our negotiating history to indict the club a bit here. VVD, Trying to get Keita in January, now this. We have a history of occasionally looking like mugs when we probably don’t have to.

If there is a medical issue that is enough to be a concern, you walk away.

What you don’t do it try use it to renegotiate an already agreed fee. Surely we aren’t that stupid?!

Don’t think the deal was ever going to happen, think Lyon have played us, they said there was no way he’s leaving before the World Cup and now they’ve made us look a joke in the process one way or another.

Don’t buy the medical stuff, why renegotiate for a player with a medical problem? You’d just walk away, not try to reduce the fee.

Whole thing has been an embarrassment from the start.

Probably there was a verbal agreement and not a signed one for the fee.

Anyways, if he has a medical history and we are hesitant then better to stop chasing him and find other players.

Mel and Pearce are usually in sync, but it's odd that they would contradict each other, something fishy about it.

We may never know the truth, but I really do suspect we may have pulled out because of his knee, but it wouldn't go amiss if we tried to get him cheaper :p
