Can we now just move on, it’s reported everywhere that he now prefers Chelsea. Can we close this thread and never mention it again! A couple of really decent incomings in the next few days would calm things down. Just do it FSG.

The same story on repeat with Lavia points to piss poor communication skills given how much time and effort we've spent on both deals only to be told both prefer to join Chelsea. We might have been given false hope by agents but that's where you earn your money sussing these things out and moving it along quickly.

I think we now need to move very swiftly to our next target. Won't be easy as the closer we get to the deadline the less time other clubs have to find replacements, the more they'll want to be compensated themselves so they don't end up with their own Arthur Melo.

Bit dramatic this. In fact a bunch of you are getting your knickers in such a twist.

There are other defensive midfielders in world football. The world hasn’t ended. Clearly there is money available. Let’s see if we can find a player who isn’t ridiculously overpriced or someone who only has 30 games under his belt.

Bit of perspective needed for all the posters with their righteous anger and sweeping statements.

How many good enough DM are there on the market? I hope you're right.

I think Verratti would be a good option for 1-2 seasons. Although I dislike players who went to PSG.

My knowledge of world football isn’t the best so I can’t reel off a long list of names but the world’s a big place! Lots of clubs, lots of players. Let’s hope we have scouted a few already.

Every seller now whom we go to for a DM would fleece us off now. I’d slap another 25-30% more on my DM after seeing this shitshow by the Liverpool deal team.

Every negotiation from now on should simply start with:

'For F**k's sake, please just tell us he doesn't want to join Chelsea?'

Calls the internal decision making "frazzled"
Again makes clear the "value" aspect of Lavia and us not wanting to go to 50. The club has denied a ÂŁ60m bid

Joyce also suggests a 4-2-3-1 as a way of bypassing having 0 DMs

Calls Liverpool reactive rather than proactive. A clear problem

Reaction to tactics rather than forcing your opponents to confront your style of play was evident at crucial  periods yesterday, good comment.

I'd take Adams right now. We need SOMEONE.

Buy him, Kone should be ready to go any day now from his injury. Those two would at least give us some hope. Wouldn't cost much either so they'd satisify the FSG fans.

No we don’t. We don’t need to repeat the Arturo Melo mistake

I would rather sign no one and adjust until we find our perfect “6”

As much as I don’t rate Jones, he is way better than Adams. I can’t believe we are linked with him.
