Amazing tonight! I'm excited about what he could become, showing some goos signs already, nice to get some local talent on too!

Loved the reception he got tonight. A good minute or two before he came onto the pitch, he stepped out to the side of the pitch with the tracksuit off and all the crowd near the dugout started to clap and cheer. then he came on and got a great standing ovation. Then after a few confident touches, they started singing "theres only one Jay Spearing, one Jay Spearing, theres only one Jay Spearing". It sent shivers down my back (even writing it now is sending shivers and goosebumps all over). When i saw a wee skinhead on the left handside for Dossenas goal, i thought he was Spearing and was shouting to Babel and Masch "PASS TO JAY, PASS TO JAY". When Dossena scored i jumped up and shouted "F***ing RIGHT!!!!! GO JAY!".  Then i realised it was Dossena who scored and had a laughing fit cause i couldn't believe Dossena scored ;D I really wanted Spearing to get a goal. Well done lad and keep up the good work and you'll get another chance in no time.

Came on and looked very assured and done very well given the amount of time he was on the pitch.

He looked tidy. I say give him a few more sub appearances and then give him a few starts.
Definately seems to be ready for first team action.

This guy looks totally relaxed and comfortable on the ball, tackles like a beast considering all the height of him and is as good a passer as any.  From all the games I've seen of him in the reserves and first team I've always thought Spearing, along with Darby look the real deal.  Really good game when he came on and how he must feel right now after the whole ground singing his name.  Well in Jay ;D

Fair play to Jay (hey that rhymes!), he came on and did a great job. Won a few tackles and made a splendid pass to Kuyt and nearly step up someone.

Chuffed for him, he dealt with the Pressure easily and gave it his all, fair play.

Best thing was he didn't look out of place at all in a midfield battle against van der vaart, Marcelo, Diarra, Guti etc, all proven top flight players. The lad deserves more chances, and I really hope he gets them because he could be a top player for us.

      I'm impressed with him.
Playing against Real Madrid with players liek Diarra, Guti, Raul, van der Vaart and Sneijder, he didn't look uneasy.

Even show his strength when he went on the chase for the ball. And hardly put a wrong foot in. Made a Stevie-like ball to Kuyt at the far right( I actually thought the ball was going out ;D).

I can see this guy starting some league games now, he deserves them.

To say he is the next Stevie G is going a bit too far but I will definetly be chanting now "There is only one Jay Spearinggggggggg"

Was made up for him. MsG said to me when we were singing his name that he must have felt 12 foot tall. And he deserved it because he fitted in perfectly. Got stuck in, got involved with the attack and played some lovely passes.

      Hope he gets more chances.

The boy reminds me of the young Steven Gerrard, may not be skillful but very determined player. Like him.

      Good performance

      Well played Jay.

Game was already won, but you didn't look phased and you had the beating of their midfield.  You've got a bit of competition in there but hang in there and your day will come.

Well done tonight Jay. You connected some passes, made some good tackles, and pissed off some Real players because they just got tackled by some kid they never heard of. Well done mate, well done.

Well done Jay, you came on, did what you were told and didn't look out of place at all.

Let's hope you get a few more appearances, even if it's off the bench, for the rest of the season. Keep up the good work.

Thought for a second that it was him who scored I was hoping so much that he would get one. I thought thought that he should have come on rather than Lucas I would rather have seen him get a longer run out and i hope to see more of the lad soon in the first team

Ive been a critic of his in the past, but I must say he did very well when brought on last night, crisp sharp accurate passing, keep it up!
I particularly like how direct he is.
