I like Rafas new mean streak there is no point on holding on to players that havent shown what we expected or that they are passed there best, knowing our luck they will come back to haunt us in the future

drogba didnt have a very good first season at chelsea, now look at him.(even though i hate to say it, he is good)
c.ronaldo didnt have a very good first season now look at him. (again i hate to say it, but he is good)

we should give him a chance to prove himself. im sure he'll get better in the future. you know it does take time to adjust to the premiership.

Always looked a bit of a light weight, knocked off the ball too many times and if he went into a tackle, never came out with the ball (most of the time finished up on the floor)
he had the kick and run tactic off to a tee, little else and top quality full backs don't fall for that.

Think he will do well at a lower level but couldn't cut it at the top .

why do somepeople say feel sorry for him, god we went to heaven and earth to get him over here we even signed him when he was injured,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, wake up people he wasn't good enough and its as cut and dried as that,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, total wet fart as far as I'm concerned, the only half a good game he had when we beat Chelsea in the charity shield final..... but lets be honest he did get his fair share of time to show he had at least something,,,,,,,, he has nothing we want ,,, he didn't even get to the by line and cross over,, i cant remember him beating a player or skipping past defenders with that so called pace that he was supposed to have ..........

Not too bothered about either going, but if Rafa knew Zenden was off, then why did he play in the CL Final :-\. If he's good enough for the final then he should stay. But the thing that worries me is that we do not appear to have enough quality players, so we offload some "OK" players but what about next season, surely these players should be "squad" players. It's no good selling 5 players and bringing in 1 good player, a few OK players a some "up and coming players" and then complaining we do not have a squad like CFC or scum!
If we have the ca$h then does it make sense to keep these players? and expand the squad? If we get ALL these players we have been linked to then fair enough, but we have been linked with, Raul, Figo, etc, etc, before and they have not arrived!

thats probaly because we didnt have enough money to buy them, or we werent intersested(mind my spelling) in them anymore, or they are too old.

Admittedly both Drogba & Ronaldo didn't play as well in their first seasons as they play now, but they did show some level of talent during their debut seasons. Gonzales hasn't even shown in flashes what a winger should be able to do, plain & simple he isn't good enough.

I've mentioned this before, but I really do wonder if certain sections of our support have forgotten the mentality required to win the league. We've got to be ruthless, much as I hate to say it but just like Ferguson & Mourinho have been. Keep giving players one more season and we'll keep finishing third or fourth.

Not going to believe that Gonzalez has gone until he knocks at my house and tells me.

Such a shame.  It'll come back to haunt us that decision. Mark my words.

      Marky Mark's gone http://www.anfield-online.co.uk/lfc-news/2007/07/19/gonzalez-leaves-liverpool-for-betis/

A bit of a sad end to such a promising signing to be honest.

But even more importantly, and relevant to us all, ..... will edu leave the forum too??   :'(

Gonzalez went too early................ get out he didn't go soon enough..

I'm with Eddie on this one he was terrible, plain and simple as that.

he never went past anyone, he never got many good crosses in and he never won the ball back and chased back... please all of you remember how much effort we went into to bring this little show pony to liverpool, hes a pr**k and he hardly deserved to be red at all and if he wants to go and thats easy for him then he didn't have much guts for a fight at least kewell is trying to stick it out.......... Gonzalez going is nothing to me and we will not come back to regret this player moving AT ALL..................... ..

Very very very harsh statement, I did not enjoy reading that, I really didn't.

I agree the comments are harsh but they are both right....he had to go.

But you are right that Eddie C and Samcharles often contribute with both barrells to put it politely!

Dont agree with what SamCharles said. Gonzales I can remember put in a few good challenges on a couple of occasions beat his man. So saying never is wrong.

Please don't put me in the same bracket as samcharles.

I don't abuse our players, or indeed the rest of the forum, and my posts are well constructed rather than just a mindless rant.
