Daniel Agger and Roy Hodgson on Liverpool FC collision course

      http://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/liverpool-fc/1211202-daniel-agger-and-roy-hodgson-on-liverpool-fc-collision-course.html

Roy Hodgson's relationship with Daniel Agger was dealt another blow after the Liverpool manager aired his frustrations at the defender's injury problems.

Agger misses tomorrow's Merseyside derby clash with Everton after suffering a recurrence of a groin problem during Denmark's Euro 2012 qualifying win over Cyprus.

Hodgson has now questioned the logic of Morten Olsen playing the 25-year-old after he missed Liverpool's last two games before the international break due to similar fitness problems.

He said: “Agger missed two weeks with the injury he picked up in the Sunderland game but he made a miraculous recovery in order to go and play for Denmark where he got injured again.

“I don’t know what the state of play is going to be for him yet.”

Agger fell down the defensive pecking order following Hodgson's arrival in June, behind Martin Skrtel and Jamie Carragher whilst his chances at left-back, where he occasionally played last season, were dealt a huge blow following Paul Konchesky's capture from Fulham.

Relations between the pair could now be on collision course as Hodgson seemingly overlooked the Dane's abilities when discussing Konchesky and Fernando Torres' return for the showdown clash at Goodison Park and Dirk Kuyt's latest setback.

He added: “Konchesky has made a good recovery as has Fernando Torres so all being well we can welcome those two back.

“We get two good ones back, but lose a good one in Kuyt."

I don't want to lose Agger, would rather see the back of hodgson who can't see a good CB when it's in front of him.

Roy is saying what we all feel, that Agger should never have played last week.  However, the snide, sarky way he said it just prove his awful man management :(

Agger should be the first name on the sheet defensively with little from midfield he can bring the ball over the halfway line and create for gods sake he is a FOOTBALLER Liverpool used to only buy footballers.

If Roy pisses of Agger so much that he wants to leave- i will kill him.

Agger would be one of the first on the team sheet when fit.

Just go Roy, while you still have a little dignity intact.

I feel sorry for Agger, he doesn't deserve this kind of treatment at all.

Just wish Roy would keep his mouth shut. Always manages to make someone angry when he does open it.

      Exactly!

He gives his all on the pitch,
He has never said or done anything wrong, and injuries are always a huge part of football.

Ill still get behind roy and say give him some more time but this does highlight terrible man management and probably does indicate with what most on here are saying, that the job is too big for him. Agger is the best footballing defender we have. He would be one of the first names down on my teamsheet. It's gonna be a huge loss if roy pisses him off so much and he leaves. Which unfortunately is what will happen.

It just goes to show that the majority of fans all want Agger to play and Hodgson out. He is our best ball-playing defender and a very important team-player

The more he opens his mouth the more he just fckin infuriates me ,no fckin clue and no fckin idea how to manage a big club, our best ball playing centre half by a country mile and Roy treating him like a second rate footballer, un yet he still rates poulsen and konchesky that just about sums him up ,to be honest they have been on a collision course ever since Danny gave that interview about the long ball tactics, to be a great liverpool manager you have to have that bit of pinache about you sadly Roy you don't have it now or never will have it, should have stayed at a small club (no offence meant) where your mentality was better suited.

Agger has never been a problem while he has been here. One of those players who generally has gone about his business, despite so many setbacks. And now all this?

Obviously Roy is just completely out of his depth.
