Good result that, the team is bonding well so far but alas I still think we need to capitalise on Carroll's precense.  Hope Merilesh is not out for too long, he seems to be linking up with Suarez like a dream!

Good win.  Watching it at times though, made me think of how I cannot wait til Gerrard gets fit and back into the team. 

Shame about Meireles as well.

Don't think we had to leave 2nd gear to win that, happy with the result, and knowing that we can play better if needed.

Thought spearing had a great game.
Suarez very lively and always a threat.
flano looks low on confidence but will come good i'm sure.

Mostly his defending, his positioning, tackling and aerial ability, also his passing. Stats bear that out.  People are seduced by Agger's attacking runs.

Do not agree with that at all.  Aerial ability perhaps, all the rest, Agger wins for me.  And his attacking runs are so seductive.

Lovely nutmeg from Suarez for the third and a wonderful finish from Carroll. Just saw it now, top stuff.

Good professional job by the lads tonight. Am really chuffed Kenny took no chances and went with a strong line-up tonight as the run out and fitness would have done them all the world of good. Little Luis was the pick of the bunch by far and despite not looking 100% match fit he was excellent. I thought Spearing was our next best tonight, I don't think I can remember him giving the ball away once + he played with confidence and authority. Also good to see young Flanno come in and play a solid game after a difficult match against Sunderland and on the other side Robinson once again looked the part. He's gonna develop into a helluva player ya know. Carroll took his goal well but what a miserable bugger, he disn't even celebrate his goal and everytime the camera panned to him he was berating his teamates.  Also good for Skrtel to get some minutes under his belt and I thought young Henderson showed a few flashes tonight + he was very unlucky to get booked for his supposed dive in the penatly area.

If that one penalty was in the champions league final, would you have the same opinion?
If he cannot defend sensibly agains Exeter, how will he defend against AC milan or another great team?
It is not like I would put him on the transfer list, just wouldn't have him in my first team.

Skrtel was a rock in defence last season and played every game. He would be one of the first names on my team sheet.

Voted for henderson , cos i can see he's going to be the new lucas . Some cu*ts wont give the lad a minute . Neat and tidy as usual and didn't do anything wrong . Suarez was class as usual ,but henderson needs the backing .

Really think Andy lets some of those gobshites in the stands get to him at times. Still looks abit low on confidence but that goal won't of done him any harm.

Glad to see him berating his team mates though for using him as a homing beacon. I wouldn't argue with him put it that way.

Very pleased with the result, the performance was very professional and very diligent. Showed the utmost respect to Exeter even though we were the far superior side.

I actually thought Jay had a very good game and was easily better than Charlie.

Good win in a decent performance ... Still a lot of work to be done ...

So we rested Carra, Dagger, Enrique, Lucas, Kuyt. Suarez off early. Light run out for Downing. Skrtel, penalty aside, had a solid first game back. Only down side is Meireles being out for a few weeks.

Adam was poor first half, anonymous in the second.
Spearing was good.
Henderson was active but without much end product, except the ball for Suarez.  Hopeless dive as well.

Showed professionalism in that and came away with the win. Looks like we really used that game to our advantage and help the side click.

On to the next round.

So who could we face in the 3rd round?

Can we just have caroll injured again please? the guy barely runs and he cuts off all the style and flow that our amazing team can play with.
