Stoke 1-0 Liverpool: In game and Post Match debate

Well, I was expecting at least a draw, but we've got what we deserved ... Trying to beat Stoke at their own game, at their own ground, is never a good idea ... Kenny and the team should learn from today's mistakes ...

At their own game? I am sure we attempted to play pass and move football, with Suarez and Kuyt starting, only when Carroll came on could you say that, and even then we played pass and move football and then looked for a cross.

7 of our last 13 goals (all comps) conceded were penalties!  That's shocking.

It'll be interesting to know Dalglish's opinion on the game.

And why Enrique not on the list, I'd shortlist him and Bellamy as MOTM.

Positives = Suarez and the fact were now creating a lot of chances away from home.

Negatives = Carra, Adam and Kuyt were f**king awful and now their place in the side is in serious doubt for the Spurs game.

The ref killed the game with the penalty. After that Stoke didn't want to know about a football match.

Look let's call a spade a spade here.  We can moan about chances missed,posession which was amazingly 72% yes 72% awat at Stoke. How can you lose?  Until we find a way to win these games just like Sunderland at home when we were killing them in the first half we won't compete for the title.   

Bellamy looked good.

Downing put in some super crosses.

Suarez should have scored but it was a difficult half volley to control.

We deserved a draw at least.

All handballs would have been harsh desisions but when you get to the third one as a ref you need to give it. The last handball call came off his chest but his arms are away from his body, blocking the cross... so harsh but a penaly none the less (keep your arms in)

Cara's penalty was understandable desision but still he went in hard on Carra and then went down easy.... it was a penalty though... just.

Really bad spell for Adam in the game, overshadowed some good balls and tackles.

Henderson should have scored, then Adam should have put Suarez through right after.. watch it again, suarez was in acres of space.

They had so many in the box we should have had a lot of shots outside the box... there has to be space somewhere else.

It was a long wait for that game to be very disapointed. Oh well.

If you can't remember the Stoke game last season I'm not sure you are in any position to comment on whether today was the 'same old story' or not.

Don't think the ref was THAT bad to be honest and could have done with some help from his linesman for the penalty appeal.

We didn't get the rub of the green today and quite frankly should have won five nil. But we didn't.

I aint going to knee jerk and say so and so is this and that although we can't keep giving the ball away so cheaply whether it be misplaced passes in the middle of the park or hopeful hoofs up it.

Can't wait for the Captain to come back and steady that midfield though!

Sadly I have to agree mate, think it may be time for a change soon.

The number of side and back passes is the main reason we got beaten, the players should have the vision to move fast and hurt the opposition, not slowing ourselves down by dilly-dallying. Lucas may not have an outstanding game but at least he tried to move forward.

Chelsea scraped a point in a game, like us, they probably should have won.

I still have a feeling that Dalglish is unwilling to drop Carragher. He's made two mistakes in two games. Deserves to be dropped. Like young Flanno did when he made one mistake against Sunderland.

Just be nice to actually win these sorts of games like ManUre or Chavski.

Agreed, and Kuyt is horrible in a 4 4 2, he is so much better as the lone striker or on the right in a 4 3 3.

I think we lacked that 3rd creative attacking midfielder today to play infront of Adam and Lucas.

We've won 1 and lost 1 (harshly) away.  Stop being a kneejerker.

gutted , but we did not play that bad, as the result suggest, we created  chances and blew them off,  
  voted Downing motm, although no one really was oustanding, But to suggest we are not top 4 form on this , (unlucky really),game  is too far , Stoke will give a hard game to anyone at the Brittania the way they play,

I don't agree that Adam was terrible. Hit and miss .... yes, but some of his passing was exceptional, some was crap. Average but not terrible.
