Stoke 1-0 Liverpool: In game and Post Match debate

I still have a feeling that Dalglish is unwilling to drop Carragher. He's made two mistakes in two games. Deserves to be dropped.

Can see it happening now.

I don't agree that Adam was terrible. Hit and miss .... yes, but some of his passing was exceptional, some was crap. Average but not terrible.

Deserved to have a couple of assists to his name today.  Some poor finishing and failure to attack some of his corners/free kicks.

Downing did pretty well, got a few crosses in without much support, everyone running away from him. Enrique and Bellamy's partnership looks as if they have been playing together in the last 3 years.

I'm seriouly starting to think Adam is not good enought. He has to learn this is not Blackpool, that there are players around him who are as good and better than him. Personally I think he's trying to do to much, he's spreading himself too thin.

Downing - If playing Downing on the right didn't work, shouldn't we switch him left?
Lucas - I think Lucas was alright as he is a defensive midfielder.
Adam - But where's Charlie? Where's his distribution? Lucas was doing Charlie's work.
Henderson - Young lad at a big club, he will learn from it.
Jose - Thought he did well today.

Definitely deserved to win it based on chances and pressure but Stoke did their game plan justice. I didn't think there was enough contact from Carragher to warrant a penalty but I suppose if you have your arm across the striker he's gonna go down.
I thought a lot of our passes were under hit considering the wind and made us lose the ball more than we should have. Adam had an on/off game and I thought generally the first half nobody stood out.
2nd half Downing was good. How one of our chances didn't go in is harsh!

Just be nice to actually win these sorts of games like ManUre or Chavski.
We have the players but seemingly not the mind-set

We would end up on 67 points at this rate and would think that is top 4 quality.

Anyone heard what happened to Johnson yet?  Is this going to put him out again?  We get rid of one labelled a crock and Glen decides to take his place?

As i said im willing to bet the three teams mentioned dont get beaten by stoke. With Raul and aquilani gone and gerrard not yet fit we dont have really have the options to change it in midfield

For me his problems start as soon as he tries to play quickly, give him time and he's as good as anyone, today he tried to quicken and couldn't maintain either his passing accuracy or possession.

Think we need to just scrap this now and get on to Spurs game.

No matter what you say, Stoke are for me the 7th best team in England now. I would put money on United, City and Arsenal not scoring more than 1 there.

Chelsea looked like they could of been beat there.

He is trying to hard in my opinion, and is trying too much and it comes across as if he is always loosing the ball but he is always attempting the hardest of passes but he does need to be more aware of players around him, not just thinking of runners on the wing.

just think we need to be brave now with team selection.Jamie has now cost us 2 goals and 4 points by being too slow.Skrtyl isnt a full back.Carrol needs games with Suarez and Stevie is so desperately needed.There is so much positive stuff to take form what we have now but we didnt get anything form today which is frustrating.
Those who was lyrical about Alonso,he had off days just like Adam.patience is what is needed but chnages have to take place.

Aquilani was never really here, so I don't think he can be quoted in a "What If" comment.

Lucas was doing Charlie's work.

That's so not true. Adam was hit and miss but the best balls from midfield were all his. Lucas only decent attacking contribution was in the 3rd minute of the match, with a good pass to the left. I can think of at least 5 great passes to Downing or Suarez on the wings from Adam. This does not mean Charlie played well but it's funny how the judgmenet of him is always exaggerated. Just like it was with Lucas before...

Somebody ought to be in that "hole" Stevie occupies when crosses come in. Charlie should have stepped up, but he didn't. Instead our wingers and strikers were taking turns to cover that "hole". We are as good as our weakest link and everyone was overworked. Damn it! Charlie you were supposed to dish out balls to open up the defence. Instead everyone had to work on your behalf. You were such a liability today.
