we've beaten five of the seven sides above us in the League.

You could also say that five of the top seven sides have beaten us in the league too.

You say you wouldn't let Kenny spend money in the transfer market and that he hasn't got a clue but you don't realise it was Comolli, who has since been fired, who 'spent ' the money and negotiated the transfer fees for those players.

It appears it is you my friend who hasn't got a clue.

Comolli carried the can for sure but Dalglish admitted he was responsible as well. Nobody can deny we have made some monumental F**k ups in the transfer market these last few years. Keane, Aquilani, Downing...then not signing a striker last Jan.

Kenny wanted the payers, that appears to be true, but it was Comolli who spent the money and the amount we paid for the player seems to be the biggest problem for many as it has been discussed time and time again that we over paid.

I would guess if we spent less money on the same players there would not be as much criticism if how they performed.

My friend, you need to read what Kenny said, all buys were bought by HIM and our useless DOF. Kenny is fantastic at motivating players and getting them to play for the cause but you would need to be on something if you think he has a clue in the transfer market. Yes Kenny did not negotiate them but look at how poor we have been in the league, that does not change the fact the players bought have not been good enough.

comolli got the boot for the fees and so on I presume but that does not change the situation of the players identified and bought not being good enough in the first place

My friend it appears you do not know what kenny himself admitted and has not admitted. There are two top managers free in the market, AVB and Rafa, it would be a huge mistake if we do not go for one of them

None of us know why Comolli was sacked... That is abundantly clear.. We are all guessing.

Kenny is bound to, like any good manager going to protect his players.. He isn't going to tell tales regarding the signings.. He will just back them in public and try to take the pressure off them..

We know nothing really of the inner workings of the club so let's not state things as facts that you can not be sure are.

It would be a huge mistake to constantly change managers.. If a new manager came in this summer and didn't get off to a flyer then no doubt numptys like you would be calling for his head in 12 months time.

Continuity it the way to move the club forward.. Settled owners.. Settled manager.. Settled squad.
Im fairly sure all of last summers signings will improve next season.. Patience is required like it was with Lucas.

I can read perfectly well thanks and I know that the players were wanted by Kenny and have said as much but when you posted only what the players cost then I presumed that you, like many others, have more of a problem with what we spent on the players than the the actual players themselves.

You label them flops based on what we paid for them and I just pointed out that Kenny did not negotiate the price, Comolli did and it seemed it went some way in costing him his job.

Yes Kenny did not negotiate them but look at how poor we have been in the league, that does not change the fact the players bought have not been good enough.

While it is true that performances from some of our new signings haven't been great at times there have been just as many players that Kenny didn't sign who have also played badly and contributed to our poor run in the league and I think one season is a little short to be judging some of the new players especially young ones like Henderson.

My friend it appears you do not know what kenny himself admitted and has not admitted. There are two top managers free in the market, AVB and Rafa, it would be a huge mistake if we do not go for one of them

The same AVB that got sacked by Chelsea who since they replaced him with West Brom's former manage are now in the European Cup Final?

I'd rather have Kenny any day if the week thanks.

We need to focus on the wings, as Kuyt, Maxi and Bellamy are leaving or getting on in age we need to find new talent whom can provide danger out on the wings, yes we have Sterling but he is not ready yet. Downing for me is not consistent enough therefore we need to bring in two wingers if not one at least.

Gylfi Sigurdson!!!! from Hoffenheim. He is at Swansea at the moment and is an amazing player and still only 22. Can pass and shoot with either foot just as effectively, more than useful on his head, has brilliant movement and forget Charlie Adam, this guy is a real free kick specialist. Would love him here, he is Gerrardesque.

      Gylfi Sigurdsson compilation

Think at the back we are all good. Don't expect us to sign anyone in that area at all. If we have injuries cover can come into fill in, also remember Martin Kelly can play CB if needed.

Could also do with a wide right player if either or both of Maxi and Kuyt do go. Maxi looks certain to leave. Would love Iker Munian and I see Guillem Ballague is linking us with Christian Tello and he does look a talent that lad. If we want to break the bank though then Frank Ribery is one amazing player and I would love him at Liverpool. That isn't going to happen though!

Up top we have to try and sign a pacey front man who knows how to link up play and how to bury a chance to play off Suarez. Carroll just hasn't cut it and lack of finishing has cost us dearly this season in the league campaign. Suarez is not the clinical striker we crave either but his all round game is stunning and puts Andy to shame at times. A player like, dare I say it... Darren Bent!
Thats Your post im pretty sure that was your first one then about a few days later i replied.
Looks amazing. Never seen this lad. Those goals remind me of a certain someone. If he can pass which I didn't see a deffo signing for me.

      Hello everyone,

It's my first post so I thought I'd share some of my limitless transfer wisdom with you.

      I'd like to see:

2 central midfielders (Henderson and Adam haven't cut any mustard yet, but I have faith that they'll improve)

      1 winger/forward (with pace)

      1 striker (with pace)

I hope that we can get the right players in. Sigurdsson seems to be a good player, and I like the idea of buying players under the age of 25. It seems that they can grow into better players and are hungry to prove themselves.

As for who leaves, I don't really mind, as long as we keep Suarez, Skrtel, Gerrard (even though he's more and more knackered), Agger, Johnson, and Reina (despite his disappointing season).

I was one of Carroll's biggest critics however he has shown since the Newcastle away game a massive change of form and someone posted something the other day about how he had no training regime at Newcastle and our sports science team basically stripped him down to nothing and built him back up again after his injury to the point he is at now.

Many times last year I questioned his fitness and apparent lack of effort but after reading that and seeing the massive upturn of both effort and form in my opinion there is no chance I'd even contemplate getting rid of Andy and I'm backing him to come good. I still think we could do with a minimum of 1 but preferably 2 strikers this summer but to sell Andy at this point would be a definite mistake and I simply do not see it happening.

I think in terms of defence we don't need anybody! It's common knowledge our defending last year was pretty solid and I think we have arguably two of the best centre backs in the world in Agger and Skrtel.  I'm also really optimistic about right-back, as well as Glen Johnson we have Martin Kelly and John Flanagan both of whom are going to be stars I'm sure and Jack Robinson will hopefully make it as well! If anything, I think we could probably do with a back-up for Enrique, I thought Enrique was impressive the first-half of last season but he sort of lost his way from January onwards.

In terms of midfield, I think in the centre, we're pretty much sorted, Lucas when he returns will be like having a new signing and hopefully Stevie will be in the side more next season! Jordan Henderson will also provide back up for those two and I'm still hopeful Jay Spearing has a future at the club!  My biggest concern would be the wingers, we're desperately short in that department and we have been for some time! Hence why Dirk Kuyt spent so long out there! Would be delighted with the signing of Sigurdsson, think he could be a real star for us! Don't know if anybody agrees, I'm just throwing it out there, but what about Marc Albrighton at Villa? Vastly under-rated in my opinion, he's impressed me when I've seen him and he never seems to get a great amount of game time at Villa! Either way I think we need two wingers at the least! Also, like the idea of attempting to sign Adam Johnson at City, I know he would be expensive but I can see his time at City being limited and he can play on the right and left! Also a fan of Lars Bender of Germany, had a great season at Leverkusen and his passing is excellent! Also having a great Euro campaign!

As for strikers, we definitely need one more!! This was the main problem last term, we didn't have somebody who could put the ball in the back of the net!! We need somebody to play alongside Suarez!!

In terms of leaving the club, well Dirk Kuyt has already gone and I think Maxi will as well! I don't see a future for Charlie Adam unfortunately and I would be tempted to offload Stewart Downing if we can sign another winger! I would send Jonjo Shelvey out on loan somewhere and as for Aquilani and Cole, I would offload them for good!!

Would like to see this team

Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Sigurdsson, Lucas, Gerrard, Johnson, Suarez, Carroll

As you can see, that isn't to dis-similar from last season's team with the inclusion of some actual wingers! Lucas returning will be massive!! Although I would like to see another striker (Llorente)

So in terms of bringing players in I would like to see: Adam Johnson, Gylffi Sigurdsson (not sure I've spelt that right, Lars Bender and a striker!! Always been a fan of Fernando Llorente!

I'd assume that's in a 433 or 4231, in a 442 Sigurdsson would be wasted out wide. But that would be a very good starting 11

IMO we need to sell the following players:
      - Adam (simply not good enough - slow player who would not fit the tiki-taka play)
      - Cole (an impact player for 10 minutes after which he runs out of breath)
      - Aqua (I rate him; would sell only if he does not want to be at LFC - which bares the question: why did he F***ing sign in the first place...?!?)
      - Spearing (although has the desire I do not think that he will have much playing time - maybe go on loan...)

I would strengthen the following positions:
      - Striker: 1 (Luuk De Jong or Fabio Boreli - different players so maybe we get both...)
      - Winger: 1 (Adam Johnson, Krasic, or both...)
      - Midfield: 2 (Sig, Ramirez - I believe that this has been our weakness last year)
      - LB: 1 (Aly Sissokho - Enrique needs strong competition)

The world and his wife knows we need a striker. If our budget is more limited than most, then how about doing what Tottenham did last season and try to sign Adebayor on loan from City? City would have to subsidise a percentage of his wages, like they did last season when he went to Spurs.

He is a very good striker, who started off very well for Tottenham, he got 24 league goals for Arsenal before moving to City? He has pace to run in behind, he can hold the ball up and can score goals.

I admit, I'd prefer someone like Falcao but if we could bring him in for free (wages excluded) for a season, it could be a really good piece of business and it might let us splash more money on a quality wide player, which we've been lacking for a decade.

As for Falcao who I just mentioned, he'd be the perfect striker for Liverpool. Atletico Madrid are in serious debt, and need to pay the tax man a lot of money so they'll be needing to sell of their best players to pay for this. I would love to get Falcao who is one of the best strikers around. Unfortunately, I doubt we'd be able to afford him.
