Liverpool wages and transfer fees of six players who are not in the typical starting XI:
Lovren: 90k (transfer fee: €25.3M)
Shaq: 90k (transfer fee: €14.7)
Sturridge: 120k (transfer fee: €15M)
Moreno: 40k (transfer fee: €18M)

Lallana: 65k (transfer fee: €31M)
Total wages paid per week: 475k
Total transfer fees paid to acquire these players: €121.7M
Basically, City only pays 115K more than us in weekly wages for these guys to warm their bench, but they also paid €155M more in transfer fees to acquire these guys than we paid to acquire ours.
*Keep in mind I've only selected 6 players from each side. Man City have more than 6 expensive bench warmers. Kompany is one name I didn't select that would've inflated their wage bill. Gundogan started lots of games this year, but he usually sits on the bench if Silva, KDB, and Fernandinho are all healthy. He would inflate both the wage bill and the total transfer fees.
* Also, a €6M wage gap seems little at first sight because we're used to talking in millions when it comes to football, but keep in mind this is on a weekly basis that this extra €6M has to be paid. Idk exactly if PL players are paid only for the 38 game-weeks or more, but if we assume it's only the 38 game-weeks then City pays, per season, €228M more than us in wages to have the squad that they have. To have the full picture, you'd have to take into account the transfer fees paid too.
All in all, I think that the difference is considerable and that the wage gap, when put in the context of a full season, is bigger than what we might think at first sight.
