I'm thinking about the next game, but I don't like Suarez playing too wide or deep. Almost as if we are accommodating Sturridge, but need to find a way for both of those to play. Maybe a diamond 4-4-2?

this!!! suarez is our most dangerous player. surely we want him infront of the goal. doesnt make sense to mye.

Thing that stands out for me is that we desperately need an aerially commanding centre half. Their first goal changed everything, and like the goal against Man Utd the defending was absolutely awful. Until we get that sorted, we'll always concede cheap and fail to prosper.

That aside, I thought a draw was a fair result and it's a good point.

Definitely agree with you regarding the centre back. If we had someone to handle Giroud properly, and play alongside Carra, we would have walked it tonight. They had a lot of pressure but not much to show for it until Giroud got involved.

First Coates, now Agger. Just player-related failures, or is it more system-related? Something's a little weird on our defensive end TBH.

Second half we seemed toothless on the counter, give it to Suarez and hope. Hopefully Coutinho will add something in that department.

Thought you would have chosen Walcott or Giroud, so surprised by this.

We were on the back foot all game I thought and got two very lucky goals. Defending was poor for both goals and they also had a few other chances, I think we were lucky to get a point.

Didn't actually have much confidence before the game that we 'd win, but after going 2 up I really thought we could take 3 points.
Massively disappointed that we couldn't see it out, but lucky in the end that we got the point.

We always look liable to concede when we're put under concerted pressure. I don't think Rodgers knows how to set up a top team defensively. We've conceded soft goals all year long.

Also, Sturridge showed tonight (as he often did at Chelsea) that he is unreliable as a centre forward up on his own. He's better with someone beside him so he can feed off the scraps. Up front on his own, his touch and decision making are weak.

This is the worst Arsenal team I have seen under Wenger and the table reflects that. So I wouldn't get too excited about a 2-2 draw. An organised Liverpool team would have seen out the win. This Liverpool team under Rodgers isn't organised as well as top sides. Also, if Downing isn't sold in the summer, I give up on Rodgers.

And how exactly do you achieve that?

Because if you answer "by making them play better" i'm gonna laugh.

I'd have taken that at the beginning of the night. Gutting after being 2-0 up like, but there you go.

Lucas is still miles off his pre-injury form unfortunately, and subsequently we look so open. Gone to sh*t at set-pieces too.

      Thought Carra was boss.

Or could it be less focus on the defensive aspect is making them look worse than they are ?

Le Fondre scores in the 95th for Reading. Chelsea lose their 2-0 lead for a 2-2 finish.

Guess we aren't the only ones.

Exactly. Can't remember people thinking so poorly of Agger in all of his LFC carreer.

Not a bad point, away to Arsenal.  Made lots of chances and might of won it at the end.  Disappointing defending for the Giroud goal, which changed everything.  Frustrating night, particularly with Spurs slipping up, and there will be a few more along the way, because that's how it is rebuilding a team.  Hopefully, during the summer, we will bring in a strong centreback that is dominant in the air and address one or two other areas.  Anyway, in the light of day, a point isn't the end of the world.

      I'd agree with you there.

I'd also add that we've had a very difficult time getting three points at the Emirates. Last year was our first time ever since they moved from Highbury, so it's a bit like White Heart Lane as a bogey ground for us.

That said, the dreaded 2 goal lead. A point isn't a disaster, but 3 points was there for the taking and we goofed.
