To be honest I was cursing Brendan for bringing him on....he did very well, helped Cissokho give us a bit more threat down the left.

I thought we would win this but said before the game that Muelensteen would have them well organised and hard to break down and that's how it played out.

We just had to stay calm and hope that our quality shone through and it did, just about.

Gerrard had massive pressure for the pen and I'm glad it was him taking it as he was the man for the job and it's games like this that are just as important as the one at the weekend.

A much needed win as others have dropped points this week. Actually thought we played very well, just a bit shaky at the back. I'd throw Agger back in ASAP and then alternate with Sahko when he his fit. We gave away two very poor balls but we came back each time.

From the little time Teixera had tonight, I'd feel comfortable giving him some time against Arsenal at the weekend also.

My MOTM has to be Coutinho, he was everywhere tonight until he was subbed.. followed closely by Gerrard who made some wonderful passes tonight.

Spot on Si, I was bricking it sat here.

Had thoughts of "this man deserves to score this and put us right in there with a shout", "don't let him have this moment haunt him" etc... So proud of him right there. The pass and that moment just meant he wrapped up MotM for me.

Looking forward to seeing a lot more of Teixeira. Brentford's loss is our gain. Thought he was quite composed on the ball and made some decent passes to say that's his first appearance for the first team. Didn't rush with the ball either which I liked even though we were pushing for the win in the last few minutes.
