Are there any reliable sources linking us to him?  It seems like there could be some truth in our interest in both Emre Can and Lallana.  If we are genuinely in for Sanchez as well then I'd say just add a versatile fullback and a backup GK and we are set.

      Don't remind me.

We could of had Jovetic, Thiago Silva, Pastore, Sanchez, Kolarov, Hernanes if we shopped well in Serie A. Now we have Di Sciglio, El Sharaawy, Muriel and some more to choose from.

      At least we got Coutinho.

With the signing of Lambert I can't see us moving for Sanchez unless we sell Borini.  I really like Fabio and would love for him to be given a chance to suceed here, but if selling him means we can buy Sanchez then we should not hesitate.  Sadly, I doubt we are really in for Alexis and Barca seem unwilling/unlikely to sell him unless they get a ridiculous offer.

      Yeah very similar players........

Lambert is completely different. He is a plan B to stick on when need something different, more direct which we needed a couple of times this season (Chelsea etc.). He is also adding 'numbers' so just extra players to be able to select when the squad needs it (3 games in a week and one is hull away etc.). Bit of a no brainer 'one-off' transfer (IMO) given his availability, quality this season, price, wage, love for the club.

Getting Lambert IMO will not influence whetehr we get Sanchez or not - Sanchez is obviosuly Plan A mould so other similar type players will be competing.

As for Juve, I heard Madrid were completing such a move with Morata going the other way so Sanchez should still be available.

      There is no "Plan B".

      BR has said this.
Instead he wants to do "Plan A better".

I don't believe Lambert fits into our Plan A as it currently stands though.

Perhaps doing Plan A better secretly means making Plan A more flexible and adaptive to situations occurring (a la what others would call Plan B)?

Sanchez would be an amazing player for us. He can take both wings, and interchange roles with Suarez. That combination is unmarkable and a nightmare to defend against

Fair enough mate, but given BR's description of Lamberts qualities as he sees them, then he fits perfectly with "Plan A".
If BR is right with his assessment, he's a far better fit that Aspas.

Do you see us playing with a front 3 of Suarez, Sturridge and Sanchez if he comes, and where does that leave Sterling?

I like the idea of that front 3 though.

and with Coutinho or Sterling in the #10 role.... that would be insane, I don't think there would be a better attack in the World if this happened!

Just bearing in mind that we may be a little more successful in domestic cup competitions this upcoming season, with a minimum of six champions league games.

Add in the likelihood of an injury or suspension too. We replace quality (benitez accent) with quality.

Unfortunately I feel that Sanchez will pass us by. It's adam lallana who will arrive at the club.

That's what I was thinking. Triple S will remain strong!

On a serious note, just look at the quality in those four players: Sterling, Sanchez, Sturridge, Suarez. That'd frighten the life out of any team in my opinion.

I love the idea about having so many quality options. Sturridge often misses a significant number of games through injuries. Sterling and Coutinho are so young they're naturally prone to periods of bad (or not-so-good) form. Having Suarez, Sturridge, Sanchez, Coutinho and Sterling in the squad gives us so many different options, it's unreal. Sterling can play on both sides or even behind a front 3. Suarez is a natural goalscorer but also a creator. Sturridge is a quality finisher but does a great job cutting in from wide positions. Coutinho is a number 10 but can be just as good on the left. If we did sign Sanchez, someone who can lead the line or play on either side, I'd be simply over the moon with the quality we're bringing to the squad, and worry about selection later.
