Arsenal and Spurs are refusing to meet his £24m valuation and United are after Bastian. Can we please swoop in?!

It'd be great if we did but I think he could be out of our price range.

That's exciting. Clyne, Illarramendi and a striker would mean a pretty good window. There's room for even more improvement but that would be a huge step forward even if we do nothing else

I wonder if that's a 12.5m offer or if the extra 2m is in installments. I can't imagine Southampton would accept the latter.

Supposedly the guy that broke the Lallana transfer news says this one is just about over the line.

Looks like a deal will be done soon. Good news, just a striker left now.

Come on Brendan make sure it's Bacca and not Benteke.

£10.5m would be a cracking deal in today's market.

Guessing their may be add-ons but still you'd struggle to be disappointed in that. Seems like something has gone on with our transfer department as they're suddenly targeting and acquiring decent players!

Clyne will be a really solid addition if we can succeed in securing a deal.

Please tell me you are talking about Bacca, and have not mistakenly put the 21.5 there as meaning 31.5 for Benteke.....

21.5M sounds like a lot of money for a guy turning 29 at the start of the season

True but I'm not convinced he is that great. I mean, it's not like we are signing a proven world class player. United signed RvP in his prime (around that age) for just a little more I think

I'll be happy if he comes as it means we've identified and dealt with our weaknesses well (considering Clyne is sealed) and it'll give me real optimism to the start of the season, I just wonder if Bacca really is the best we could do
