Think he has been given a bit of an easy ride this season due to his age, but some of his mistakes so far this season have very little to do with "he's still young" and everything to do with concentration and knowing your surroundings.
People go on about how many goals Mignolet / Lovren have cost us, but Gomez has cost us at least five goals (could have been more) this season too. Luckily for him they haven't too often turned into us dropping points (Leicester twice, West-Ham, Arsenal tonight, others I'm forgetting). That's forgetting the times he messed up that didn't turn into a goal (Bournemouth the most recent one). I honestly have no idea what was going through his head for that first goal. You see him checking over his shoulder multiple times to see where Sanchez is. He KNOWS Sanchez is there. Why does he not attack that ball? I don't get it. Is he scared to clear it with his left / head and doesn't want to risk making an own goal?
He has had some very decent games against sides that don't target him and sit deep for the majority of the game, but almost every side that has got at him, got the better of him.
Perhaps a bit harsh on the lad, I know he's not a RB, but they're pretty basic mistakes in my opinion.
