Agreed but so was Owen. If youāre good enough, youāre old enough and Elliott more than looked the part until his injury.
If weād paid X amount for Elliott last summer then people wouldāve been raving about him rather than saying heās just a kid. Same if Bellingham was signed (for example)
Maybe should take this to the FSG thread, but the argument was made that Elliot coming in kinda equalised Gini/Shaq leaving. Elliot is a very promising kid, not doubt, and I do think if yer good enough yer old enough, but would be good to have a season under his belt at the top level.
Gini was already a Klopp regular for lots of years, played LOTS of games, was the 3rd guy with Hendo/Fab, and is a different player to Elliot.
Don't even think it's about Gini specifically, don't want to get bogged down on him - it's more about investing in the squad 'to a level' that will allow JĆ¼rgen to freshen things up, consistently improve, to try and compete with the best.
