Mmmh fare point, I'd probably agree with you but I haven't seen much of Lavezzi so I haven't been able to judge him.

Sorry have to disagree with you there. Lavezzi is my favorite he got pace and flare he loves to attack players i think we should try to sign him.
He is a player who could turn a game in an instant with a mad run or shot.

Lavezzi is a winger or a striker, isn't he? So he's in a different mould to Martinez or Aquilani. Also, he said he wasn't interested in a move to Liverpool.

Yeah sorry that was my fault I think for mentioning him in the first place. At the moment our options seem to be Cattermole, Martinez or Aquilani. Take your pick Rafa but decide quickly cuz it looks like half of spain is leaving the team this week. :P

I would go with Martinez every time, IMO he's quality and is at the same level maybe better than when we first brought Xabi over and with him being Spanish he would find it easier to settle in. I don't think the majority of Italians are suited to the Premier League the game over here is too quick for them and leaves them prone to errors. Obviously there is exceptions Zola, Di Canio, Vialli etc.

I agree, plus I don't want a diving queen in our midfield, we already have Masch to do that sh*t. :P

I too would take Martinez. In a few seasons, he'll be better than Xabi.

I would take Martinez as well now. But how Cattermole can be considered as a target for Liverpool is beyond me he is nowhere near the quality we need.

Never seen Aquilani play to be honest so don't know if he would be a good addition or not :-\

May have to pay a trip to Youtube to get some sort of idea.

Yeah but I'm sure that he will not pick up many more anyway. he's only had one injury according to Wiki. And he seems quite fit and strong so I reckon he can cope. I just wanna see a new body in a reds shirt.

No im saying we need to get the signing right we got Dossena and evidently he was the wrong man for the job. And i feel if we do get Aqualini its far to quickly as he isn't the best man for the job were maybe martinez or Senna could be.

Not sure he'd leave Roma. He's a quality player, but he's like their Carra, except in midfield.
We'd be a very good career move for him but I can't see ut happening.

It's looking that way cufta, Xabi out, Sneijder possibly part of the deal? + 22 or so mill in. Silva in 18-20 mill. Aquilani in 18-22 mill. I doubt we will get all if any of the players but that is what the speculation is summarizing that we will get hopefully.
If we manager to get Sneijder, Silva and Aquilani for Alonso then I will hail Rafa as the greatest wheeler dealer of all time.
