Bats will roost and could hinder Anfield re-development.
If bats seen at Anfield indicate that there are certain species roosting the club will have to make provision for them in the new-look stadium if they are a protected species.
The club would be forced by European and domestic laws to incorporate a space for the bats in any new structure, an LFC spokesman said the club was ''not aware'' that bats roost at the ground but they have been seen flying above fans' heads at several recent games and a local bio-diversity group said sightings do confirm their presence inside the stadium.
A Bats' ConservationTrust spokesman said any Anfield development ''must not harm bats' conservation status''.
No wind up, it's in tonights Echo.
