Far to much of our wage bill is going on administrative staff when you compared it to the other top clubs.

      Weekly Player Wage Bill

      1st Manchester City                         Â£2.61m
      2nd Manchester United                  £2.52m
      3rd Chelsea                                     Â£1.92m
      4th Arsenal                                      £1.76m
      5th Liverpool                                  £1.53m

      Annual Player Wage Bill

      1st Manchester City                         Â£135.72m
      2nd Manchester United                  £131.04m
      3rd Chelsea                                      £99.89m
      4th Arsenal                                       Â£91.78m
      5th Liverpool                                    £79.35m

      Administration/Commercial Staff Per Club

      1st Liverpool – 500
      2nd Arsenal – 364
      3rd Man Utd – 206
      4th Chelsea – 206
      5th Man City – 170
      6th Tottenham – 133

Do we really need that many? More than twice than Man U who have a much higher turn over.

So if this figures are correct, only £79.35 million of our Annual £208 million wage bill is going on players.

Anyone looking at our players will have to agree you are quite close to the mark !

No idea where you got those player wage numbers from, but they're pretty wide of the mark.
      i.e. wrong.

Player wages were at least 152 million, and that's before bonuses etc in 2015/16

Various sites have us at £165 m for this season.

Various sites? Which ones? Genuinely interested to get perspective.

The echo article i have linked before worked our wages out as being £75 million

Everton worked out at being £53 million

Our income £300 million. Evertons £121 million

They use 43 % of there income on the first team, we use 25 %

You might want to have another look.

I've used this one quite a lot OR.
It checks out, as far as I can tell.

Of course, that still leaves 42 million for admin and "other" staff, which is high by any reckoning.

Total wages are over 200 million.

Player wages are (this season) £165.6 million, up from £152 m last year.

The echo seem to get an awful lot wrong these days.
I mean this is simple, bog standard stuff.

Anyway, believe what you like, I don't give a crap either way, as I'm happy with the sites I posted.

Let me try again; player wages are £165m up from £152m

      That's it, end of story.

No point to any of this sh*t with people who can't do basic maths and now want to separate starters, non starters, squad players and use some spurious "first team" nonsense.
Couts alone earns 200k a week, we have several other players on over 100k a week.
Couts alone is over 10 million a year in wages.

      Actually, forget it.

No one can say for certain without all the contracts

But the site I have looked at have our current wage bill as £85 million

But you have to add up the contracts and not  take the figure they use as a total wage bill (Swab)

Let's assume some figures and granted these will be rough estimates so I'll err on the 'expensive side' and see which one it comes closest to:

      Karius £75,000
      Mignolet £90,000
      Manninger £10,000

      Matip £100,000
      Lovren £100,000
      Klavan £40,000
      Gomez £30,000
      Lucas £70,000

      Milner £90,000
      Moreno £50,000

      Clyne £70,000
      Trent AA £20,000

      Henderson £140,000
      Wijnaldum £100,000
      Lallana £120,000
      Can £35,000
      Grujic £20,000
      Stewart £25,000

      Mane £120,000
      Sturridge £120,000
      Firmino £100,000
      Coutinho £150,000
      Origi £40,000
      Ings £60,000

      £1.75m per week

£91m a year. Now people can moan that I've gone in too low with a few of those so let's throw an extra £400k a week contingency just in case:  £111.8m player wages. Now unless we're playing our youth players extortionate fees I've absolutely no idea where the £165m figure is coming from.

42 m is other staff, and yes, that's high.

Even 165 is £3M per week.

=£80M if my maths is right
Say maybe another £20M for first team players I've forgotten/on loan/not at the club but we're still paying something to

Klopp and all the background people maybe about £20M?

All reserve and youth players maybe abother £20M?

West ham £75 million in total

      Stoke £75 million in totla

The figure you keep quoting are suppose to be total wage bill (but they have got ours wrong)

One of the gripes about FSG (and I agree with this one) is that the contracts they give are heavily incentivised, and that they pay a lot in bonuses as well, at the expense of basic wage.

So it depends on how much they put in for various players as a win bonus, bonuses for goals, clean sheets, whatever.
I don't agree with these incentivised contracts, but that's what we've got.

Edit: The Echo got the 200m + from our accounts, but that's for ALL the staff at the club, not just players.

Everton pay the manager about the same as us, they have more players on loan, they have a similar youth set up. Add in all the add min staff

      It costs them £30 million
