I would be surprised if Sterling starts two big games in 3 days seems a lot to handle for the 17 year old.

Not my usual mindset today - I'm really nervous about this one. We can't afford to be as impotent as we've looked, need to be a legitimate threat to keep them honest and we need to keep hold of the ball.

I was in the Kop when the crowd started chanting Flanagan's name. That was against Man City on his debut and what a fine debut that was. Let's home Raheem can have a similar impact on the game.

The wait is horrible. Even going on the xbox just doesn't feel appealing. Sterling starting just adds to the excitement.

I would be happy with that team. Coates is the future now in terms of back up for Agger and Skrtel and if anyone had not worked that out before thursday well then it should be obvious now.

I noted on the hearts match thread that it would be wrong and send out the wrong message if Downing just walked back into the team in front of Sterling and if this team is correct then I would be extreamly happy with that. Yes he is 17 and we have to manage him better than Michael Owen was managed at 17. But he deserves his chance to stay in the team. He will be desperate to work hard, impress and show us what he can do. Bringing the lazy downing back in would have been wrong.

Im excited for the game today, if a little nervous about it. But we have home advantage, aguero is out for them and they were not that great last week.

So we need a positive start...assert ourselves and be good in possesion and not wasteful. If we play to our best then we have a chance.
