Would expect a bit of rotation from the Man City game. Downing should start but not sure whether Borini should start in the middle to give him more game time as he doesn't look as sharp as he should be. Would like to see Carroll given a start too.

Can Assaidi be registered for this game or does it have to be the same squad which were registered for the first leg?

I think this would give us enough to get through at home, and give a chance to some of the youth players.

It's good that Sterling got a start in the league off the back of a good performance in the Europa, as it shows these players that they can do the same if they play well.

Think Agger will be back for the Arsenal game as well, so might be another chance for Coates.

With a slender lead I would like to see us put this to bed early with the first team then get them off the pitch before the Arsenal game.

Expect Rodgers to rest pretty much the same players as last thursday, but maybe with resting Borini an Suarez I realised how little attacking options we have.

Anyway, obviously we can get through with a draw, but looking to just keep it tight expect them to take the game to us but if we can wear them down I expect us to win by 2 goals or more.

I don't know what to expect from this game in terms of team selection. I don't think I am going to second guess Brendan's team too often as he always seems to throw in a few surprised. Think Carroll needs a game. He came off the bench against City and gave a good go at it, nearly scoring as a result. Question is, if Carroll plays in this game, would he be cup-tied for the remainder of the tournament? Reason I ask is about the possibilities of him going to Newcastle.

Would love to sign Adam Morgan given an opportunity. Brendan obviously rates him and, judging from that snippet from the documentary, he believes his attitude is first class. Doubt Sterling will feature. He has played the full 90 minutes of the last 2 games and, while I don't expect him to start next Sunday against Arsenal, he is a young guy and I am sure Brendan will be conscience of looking after him.

Assaidi can't play in this as he played in the last round for his last club.He can start in the Europa Cup for us in the group stages.
